Good morning. Waking up exhausted but so grateful. We spent the weekend in South Bend visiting our daughter. It was a football weekend so it was packed with fun. Feeling a tad behind this morning but I’ll take it. It was nice to unplug for a couple of days and just immerse ourselves in her new world. Here is a recap with the Monday Morning Wrap Up.
FRIDAY FUN

We kicked off the visit with a family dinner at one of our favorite spots. It was so nice to sit and talk with Riley and hear about everything. I wish I could bottle up these times with our teens. I love these ages so much and am so thankful for when we are all together.
We also went to a women’s volleyball game and loved every minute of it. The team is fantastic and the crowd was incredible. With any college visit, I highly recommend checking out some of the other games going on. So much fun.
GETTING STPES IN

The lake is such a beautiful spot to get some steps in. And we were so lucky to have lovely weather.

If you ever catch a game at Notre Dame, be sure to line up next to the library near the Main building and watch the bagpipes and football team walk through. It’s a long standing tradition. We didn’t snap a photo but it really is fun to see all of the fans line the sidewalk as the team walks to the stadium.
A RARE MOMENT

It’s a bit blurry, but I’ll take it. As the kids have gotten older the family photos are far and few between. We hosted some of Riley’s friends and parents for a brunch before tailgating. Such a fun morning. I wish I could do it all over again. Such a kind and impressive group of kids and parents. We can’t wait to see them all again.
Riley has settled in so well and we couldn’t be more grateful. Also very impressed by her willingness to take a leap of faith. It took bravery and it has paid off. Some of you have been here since she was in pigtails. They grow up so darn fast.
LINGERED OVER BREAKFAST

We took Riley out to breakfast before hitting the road and I wanted it to linger forever. It’s really wonderful to see her so happy and adjusting so well. I’ve heard from a handful of you with questions about ND or transferring in general. I am always happy to answer. Feel free to reach out via Instagram or email.

A FEW NEW TOUCHES

This silver cup is bringing me so much joy. My mom had one and would fill it with roses from the yard. I so wish I had kept it. I recently bought this one and it reminds me of her every time I look at it. The hurricane is a new find as well. It’s a pretty accent piece and the battery operated pillar candle is beautiful (this is the 6″ x 4.25″). It gives off such a warm and inviting light. Even my son commented on the coffee table looking nice which I thought was really cute.

If you are looking for simple fall decor, I love a garland. Easy to store and you can put it anywhere. This one is substantial and currently on sale. It’s prettier than my Amazon one. And this candle set is a 5/5. They flames flicker and the glow is gorgeous. The price for this set of 3 ($35) is really good.
FANTASTIC PRICE

I wanted to share this photo of our basement before it was furnished so you could see the rug better. It’s one of my all time favorite purchases. It’s incredibly soft underfoot and has beautiful colors. I was just at a friend’s home and it looked stunning in her family room. Her room was painted a warm white and the rug looked fantastic. It’s currently on major markdown.

A heads up that the 5 drawer version of this dresser is on sale. It completely changed my closet. So grateful for the storage (and at such a good price). You do have to put it together, but it’s worth it. We bought it twice for the guest closet. Speaking of twice, the rug in our closet is the same one we have in our basement. I loved it so much I bought this smaller version for the closet.
I hope this finds you off to a great start with your Monday. Are temps cooling off where you are? I’m so ready for jeans and sweaters! Thanks for stopping in.
