We have been flirting with Fall temps in Southern California. We seem to enjoy a cool day and then the temp creeps back up again. Luckily we know that eventually Fall will be here to stay. When Nordstrom invited me to talk about Fall looks for kids, I asked my kiddos what they thought and my son firmly said, ‘No, thank you!” while my daughter jumped for joy. She loves shopping just as much as mommy but she has a style all her own and I have learned to embrace it. She chose two looks all on her own and I’m sharing things I thought were great for Fall for both boys and girls below.
Fall LOOKS FOR HER
This outfit was actually in her closet already. This is my daughter’s comfort zone. She is a denim and Converse girl. These jeans are her favorite because of the waistband. So so comfortable and for a reasonable price. We find that she is able to roll them up and then as she grows she can roll them down. One pair lasts her an entire school year which is fantastic. The cardigan wrap is one that I have in white and really do adore. It’s so soft and she can wear it open or closed. More often than not I find it balled up in the bottom of her backpack. Folding is still something that alludes my children. The good news is that this cardigan continues to hold up well.
I remember loving Converse when I was young, too (and I still wear them) so I really shouldn’t be surprised that my daughter wears these almost everyday. The only reason these are clean is because she has one pair she wears to school and one pair she keeps for when she wants to “dress up.” Yep. You read that correctly! She rocks these with dresses and skirts, too.

DRESSING UP
While my daughter does not wear dresses often, she wears one to church and for her musical concerts. She chose this one all on her own and I think it’s darling. It’s comfortable and not fussy and she feels great in it. Sold. She also chose these booties which made my heart happy. We really haven’t seen her in anything other than Converse in quite some time so when she wanted something different it was a shock. She won’t wear these to school but will wear them for church and outings outside of school. This is her first pair of shoes with a tiny little heel and she is super excited about that.

The after church donut is a highlight of my kids’ weekend. And it’s almost always rainbow sprinkled! Girl after my own heart. We have pictures of this sweet girl, dating back to when she was just two years old, sitting on a bench eating her donut. It’s fun to look back and see how she has grown. Time goes by way too quickly. Thank goodness for photos to jog my memory.
Two thumbs up for this dress. You know it’s a winner when she keeps it on all day. More daughter approved picks are below.
CUTE FALL LOOKS
I don’t know about you, but my daughter likes to shop at another local chain store. All the kids do and the clothes drive me nuts because they are overpriced and they all shrink. I am having to hang dry t-shirts and shorts. That’s bananas. I would much prefer to get a few quality pieces from Nordstrom and know they can withstand washing and drying without shrinking or falling apart. we don’t go overboard with the wardrobe as my daughter likes to wear a few things over and over. In shoe news, did you know these smell like bubblegum? I had not idea but my dear friend Leah buys them for her daughters. So cute. While my daughter is a bit too old for them now, you may want to check them out if you have a younger daughter.

FALL LOOKS FOR HIM
I wish the “I’m only here for the snacks” shirt came in a boys’ style because that describes him perfectly! Especially if we are going to Costco!
My son is actually a piece of cake when it comes to clothing. He definitely has is own style but the shopping process takes about five minutes. I point out a few things and it’s a quick yes or no and we are done. I kept my picks realistic as my son loves a simple t-shirt, jeans and pullover. If you are looking for shoes for the holidays, these continue to be my son’s very favorite pair. They are a great price and very comfortable.
Styles for Him
Hopefully some of these styles jump start Fall shopping for your kiddos. I’ve really learned to honor the style that each of my children boast and not mold their style into something it isn’t. That only leads to clothes hanging in the closet and never being worn. We’ve all been there, right?!
*To my dear friends and all of those who have been evacuated due to the hurricane we are continuing to pray. I have been texting many of them trying to remain in the loop. Please stay safe. We love you and are thinking about you 24/7.

My favorite part about this post is that you have darling pics of your daughter in her fall outfits but your son would most likely have nothing to do with it! Too cute.

LOL. I agree. I wish you could have seen how quickly my son said no thank you. Always a smile on his face but he was certain! Too funny. Thank you for the sweet comment. Wishing you wonderful weekend.

Ha…can’t say I blame Grady. LOL Riley on the other hand looks darling. So much like her momma. Especially in that adorable dress and booties. So grown up!!!

Awe, thanks, Lauren. Yep. I don’t blame the guy either! He cracks me up. I love the way he is so definitive and yet always has a smile on his face. Hope you all are having a great weekend. I always have such lofty goals and then I get really lazy!!

Riley is a mini you! What a cute girl and like Lauren said looks so grown up in her dress and booties. I’d like that dress and those booties in my size! That dress with the plaid pleated skirt reminds me of a dress I wore to school when I was little and it was one of my favorites. Might order that for my niece for Christmas. Grady has great taste in his favorite shoes. I like those.

Thank you, Allison! I told R the same thing. That I would love her dress in my size. She is growing into such a sweet young lady. I feel lucky to be her mom. Isn’t that plaid skirted dress so cute. I am such a sucker for that style. Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.
