I am all over the place today! If you are a mom and have a young daughter . . . you will very much appreciate this! If not, stay tuned for the later part of the post. I don’t know how she did it, but my daughter convinced Santa to bring her an American Girl doll. She has named it Elizabeth and she LOVES this doll. I love that she loves her, but I do not love the price tag on the clothing. I was shopping in Michael’s the other day and almost fainted!!! Am I the only mommy on the planet that didn’t know they sold 18” doll clothes? Do you know what that means? That is amazing. Here is the best part. The little outfits are $8.00. What what? So by my calculation, if you print out their coupon for 40 or 50% off you are looking at a $5.00 outfit. Boy was that a very very popular Easter bunny when two little outfits popped in her Easter basket. Just wanted you to know in case you were in the dark like I was! I tried to find them on the website for you but could not. I bought a white nightgown {looks more like a cute white dress with a pink bow} as well as a jean skirt and argyle purple shirt for Elizabeth. Maybe ask at a store if you can not track them down. {daughter holding the doll in the cute new dress for $5 from Michaels. . . boo-yah!} On another note, if you are a picture taker like I am than you know that you are inundated with photos on your computer. Furthermore, you are most likely overwhelmed with what to do with them. You might have noticed that I have a new sponsor on the blog. I would like to welcome appo the photo organizers to my blog
I didn’t even know that this type of service existed. What an amazing option. Thanks to appo, you will be matched with a personal photo organizer. Someone who can take control of the craziness and do great things for you all while preserving the special memories that photos provide. Check it out.

Our girls had American Girl dolls (yes I said "dolls", grandma and santa were very good to them over the years), and loved them. They are safely tucked away now awaiting the day when "new" little girls will play with them. We used to find inexpensive clothes at the craft stores as well, usually by their doll/bear making section. Craft fairs are also a great place to find them if you have one in your area. Also, I think Target has some now too as they have their own version of the dolls. That is where my sil bought most of the accessories for my nieces dolls.
The American Girl dolls are pricey, but the quality can't be beat! And, I love the wholesomeness of them.

Good to know – thanks! My girl just got a wanna be American Girl doll – I'm testing the waters to see if she's going to get really into it or not. She's always been more of a stuffed animal lover than a doll lover, so we'll see if this new doll phase sticks. I had no idea how expensive those dolls were!!! Even the wanna be was $30!

I was obsessed with American Dolls growing up! That's amazing that you can find clothing at such a great cost! 🙂

Good to know! Our sweet little neighbor girl adores American Girl Dolls and has 3/4 of her bedroom dedicated to them. She helps out with our puppy a lot and I like to get her little gifts but the American Girl doll clothes are so pricey. I will make a trip to Michaels! I grew up with Barbies.

Oh Oh while Lil doesn't have an American Doll she does have one of those very similar Gotz Pottery Barn dolls. I think they're 18 inches too. Woooot! Thanks Sweetness 🙂

Oh, the money I could have saved. My daughter's Molly and Emily dolls would have been so well dressed had we known about that. She's almost 13 now, so those days are gone for me. Sigh….
