A Bedroom is Growing Up {Sneak Peek}

October 8, 2012 by Courtney 22 Comments

I can’t believe it is already Monday. It was project central around her over the last couple of days. My daughter has decided that she would like less pink in her room because she is growing up and likes other things now. Gasp! My heart sank. Have you seen her room? It’s very pink. And I love it. 4   IMG_2066 copy   IMG_2116 copy {photos by Jylare} But since this little one {who promises to be my assistant one day} has a design mind of her own I was more than happy to make a couple of changes. We will keep the pale pink walls but work in a bit of gray and green. So here is just a sneak peek as we have a ways to go. I took on a painting project which I will tell you more about later. By the way, I am warning you that all photos came from my phone so excuse the quality. Here it is in progress: stripepolaroid   And this mirror is sort of how the whole thing began. More on that later as well. It’s a long long story! mirrorpolaroid And some soft zig zags have now entered the picture. She loves this blanket {I picked it up at HomeGoods} and she reads under it every night and every morning. It’s a keeper.   chevronpolaoid While little missy and I were scheming in her room, these two were up to their own type of fun. Between playing soccer, watching football, Lego building competitions, a little tackling of their own, and just plain bonding time. . . they are pretty much inseparable. I love these two boys!   dadgrady Once Riley and I finish her room and recover from the DYI projects, I will show you what her updated space looks like! Hope you all had a great weekend. Oh, and don’t forget to cruise on by and link up your projects this Thursday. It’s a Keep C.A.L.M. and Organize On party!!!!

    Oh no! I can so relate, they get a mind of their own and want changes, but it was absolutely the most adorable, and VERY PINK room. Her deciding she doesn't want as much pink is an issue, isn't it? Looks like you are figuring it out, what fun, can't wait to see. Janell

    Its such a sweet room! I know the changes will just make it better 🙂 My 3 year old just told me she didn't like her room because the walls aren't pink (though everything in it is!). Oh how that comment warmed my heart. I am going to just enjoy every second while I still can, no doubt it won't last very long…the pink days are numbered for sure!

    I can't wait to see 🙂

    Wha? She wants less pink?!?! Your cutie assistant is growing up! I like what you've got going and I see you got the knobs off the dresser! The stripes are a fun idea! I agree with Allison- love that black and white pic of your boys.

    I like it already! Fun stripes and I adore the pink and gray combo. My daughter is a little younger and is still very into everything pink. So cute that she wants to help design her room.
