How are you? How was your Christmas celebration? Ours was really wonderful. But it was also mixed with plenty of emotion and our share of meltdowns. I never want anyone to think holidays are picture perfect. We really missed opening stockings via Zoom with our Grandma Sue and felt the sadness for sure. Having said that, life is always about embracing the beauty and the pain and we were so fortunate to spend the holiday with wonderful friends. And we are really enjoying a pretty darn lazy week.
A FAVORITE MOMENT
Every year, one of my all time favorite moments is waking up before the kids. We take time to reflect on the birth of Jesus, turn on all of the Christmas lights, pour coffee and wait for the kids to wake up (later and later every year, by the way). I can still remember my parents doing the same thing and walking down to see them by the fire with Christmas music playing. Each year, it’s a fleeting but beautiful moment.
Today I am sharing a few things that were big hits around here as well as sales worth looking into. I am not a huge after Christmas shopper but I know many people have gift cards or waited for prices to come down. I’ve rounded up my favorite deals.
HUGE HIT
Not sure if Santa does this in your home, but he often feels the need to balance things out and so occasionally there is a last minute add. This game was that add and it was the biggest hit! We have played it every day, multiple times a day. You play against one person and it rarely takes more than a minute so it’s quick and competitive. We have left it out on the island and it’s an easy one to say yes to playing because it’s so fast. And all of our guests have become obsessed, too. I promise this is a great one to have out. It would be a wonderful birthday gift for almost any age.
EXCITED TO WEAR THESE
My husband gifted me these boots and I can’t wait to wear them. They are beautifully made and so pretty. He did go up a 1/2 size like the site said and I am glad he did. They are on sale and a boot that will last.
MY HUSBAND’S FAVORITE
And while not on sale right now, this quarter zip was my husband’s favorite gift (and this cordless meat thermometer). He loves this so much his already worn it twice.
MADEWELL EXTRA 30% OFF
This bag is so pretty. It was originally $128 but is on sale with an extra 30% off making it under $46!!!
These boots were $188 and are now $40 with the extra 50% off. What?!!
This best selling sweater (more colors) was $98 and is now $48. So cute! You can check out more of the Madewell sale here.
NORDSTROM HALF YEARLY SALE
I have something very similar to this and wear it so often. Especially great for throwing over sweats for early morning walks. It’s now $18!!!! This one is really pretty and also under $20.
You can go wrong with a Bernardo jacket. I absolutely love mine. This one is now $80 off!
This handbag is gorgeous and on sale (also comes in brown). They are going quickly.
BACK IN STOCK
While it’s not on sale, it is back in stock. This is the piece of clothing I wear the most. Truly. I love this sweater so much. It’s soft and lightweight . . . looks great under a jacket and sits right at the waist. I have a small and love it so much I ordered it in black. This is a great sweater, girls. In the photo above I have it on with jeans similar to these and this jacket (I wear this jacket all the time).
ANTHROPOLOGIE EXTRA 40% OFF
This beautiful dress was $180 but is now $72 with the extra discount.
NEW YEAR’S LOOKS
Such a pretty sweater. If you need an outfit for New Year’s this is darling! It comes in other colors, too. It was $128 and is now $54. This skirt is sold out but this one is so cute. Nordstrom has a metallic skirt, too.
Beautiful skirt and it’s now under $40. This would be great with a casual white t-shirt or a pretty blouse or sweater.
This fun champagne sweater is now $35 and something you can pull out each year.
The perfect amount of sparkle for New Year’s. Great by itself or under a blazer and now $28.
These are so fun!!!! I love sequin pants. And now they are under $50. They come in three colors.

A FAVORITE TO GIVE
This was a piece I loved gifting this year. I tied a set of paper napkins and an ornament to it but you could just gift this pretty marble countertop tray all on it’s own. It’s one of those that I wish I had bought for myself (and just might).
LOOKING AHEAD
We are still basking in the lazy days of December with no to-do list. But come January, I definitely have my goals for getting more organized. And that will begin with a few closet additions. Right now the Elfa system is 30% off. Aside from organizing, I am really wanting to pair down. A less is more mantra and I am happy to share if that is of interest. Is anyone else craving a more minimalist approach in the new year.

Yes to minimalism! I gathered 100 items last night to donate…and I’m just getting started. Would love to hear any tips you have!

Definitely to minimalism . I put the game in my cart – hopefully it arrives for our stay in New Year’s Eve. I am also adoring the boots. Keep us posted on the quality

I am definitely interested in your tips for paring down all the things. I am craving simplicity in my life. Also, just wanted to let you know that I tried your breakfast casserole recommendation for Christmas morning, and it was delicious. My family voted for it to replace our old standby! Thanks for the recipe.
