Bake Shoppe Party: Adding a Flower to Hats

April 26, 2012 by Courtney 10 Comments

Thank you to my sweet and loyal readers for all of the very nice comments about our daughter’s Bake Shoppe Party. I really want to thank Passion for Parties for the inspiration. I have received a slew of emails about the Baker’s hats so I wanted to show you a quick tip! IMG_8750 I actually followed this tutorial from Passion for Parties. You can see all the details there! Birthday Party Blog I changed just one thing and wanted to share that with all of you. To make it a bit easier on me, I decided to add a little square of Velcro to all of the little bakers’ hats. I simply used the glue gun to adhere a one inch square to each one. You can see that below to the right of the name. IMG_8790 I then took the base cupcake liner {I used a liner that happened to flair out more than the other ones so the girls could make pretty big flowers} and adhered the Velcro mate to it. I used the glue gun for this as well. My daughter helped by cutting the squares of Velcro while I used the hot glue gun. IMG_8751 I had a tray of the needed supplies ready when the girls walked in. They sat with me on the floor and I handed each of them there base liner  {like you see above}. I had a zillion cupcake liners on the floor and they were able to pick four large liners and three small ones. Then we folded each one into triangles. They used the glue to stick them to their base liner. IMG_8755 Here is the birthday girl hard at work on her hat and another baker ready to decorate cakes! IMG_8809 IMG_8818 Once the girls had put their flowers together, they were able to easily attach it to their own hats.  I had glued two little pieces of Velcro to my son’s hat and to two stars so that he could “decorate” his hat as well. IMG_8906IMG_8907 All of the girls really enjoyed the activity and were pretty darn proud of their baker’s hats. IMG_8853 Hope that helps if you are going to throw a similar party. Other details of our party can be found here. ………………have a sweet day
