Bathroom Renovation: The Inspiration

October 3, 2014 by Courtney 12 Comments

Happy Friday, my friends! Woot woot! We feel like a cold is brewing in our home and are hoping and hoping that it comes and goes quickly. We are hoping to finish up the majority of our bathroom renovation this weekend. I know I haven’t shared much here on the blog. I have only given little sneak peeks over on Instagram! After the floor in our children’s bathroom. . . I spent months collecting inspiration photos. I didn’t really care what type of room it was, I just collected images that made me happy and that I was drawn to. They all had a common theme. Wood floors. For me, nothing compares to the warmth of a beautiful warm tone wood floor. I think you’ll agree these images are pretty amazing. tumblr_n9hqp70bBH1tvi492o1_1280 via via rachelhalverson Rachael Halverson Design styleathome style at home woodfloor creative home body alicayne via ali cayne via domino Of course they are all completely stunning with gorgeous architectural elements and spot on details. Nothing was left undone. Can’t say our bathroom will look like these! In my dreams. But in the end, when it came to choosing a floor for our children’s bathroom it really was a no brainer. I wanted wood. But with wood comes potential issues with water. I knew that the porcelain wood tile would be the perfect fit for us. And so, with our own two hands, we laid the floors ourselves. One step closer to creating a really pretty spot for our children {I am going to be jealous of their bathroom for sure!}. Hoping to show you next week once we get a toilet back in the room! Details! Enjoy your weekend.

Love the inspiration pictures. I too love the richness of wood. We do have hardwoods in our downstairs bath, but the tub/shower is RARELY used as we do not have much overnight company. Can't wait to see!

I am anxious to see your finished bathroom and read the details. I have been wanting to renovate my powder room but couldn't decide on the flooring. Just recently I've been reading about the wood-look tile and it seems perfect for a bath.

I'm so impressed with you two! Were your kiddos watching the process? Will be great for them to be exposed to such handy things. And p.s. I so wish I chose different wood floors for our home- but oh well, not too much I can do about it now!

I love all these inspiration pictures. Your renovation is going to look so good, and you have great taste. I want to use some of these as inspiration for my own renovation. I love the rustic but chic feel of these rooms, it's exactly what I would want to go for.
