Bathroom Renovation: Sneak Peek

October 6, 2014 by Courtney 26 Comments

I am busting at the seems and have to show you a sneak peek of our bathroom renovation today. We are finally seeing major progress in our children’s bathroom and I am seriously giddy. I may or may not be sitting in the unfinished bathroom just staring at our progress. The arrival of the vanity put us into a state of total glee. Thus far we have torn up old tile floor, reinstalled porcelain wood tile floor, replaced the baseboards, painted, and installed a new vanity. And we have done it all ourselves so we are pretty darn proud. Here is a little peek. bathroomsneakpeek bathroomrenovationpeek bathroompeek bathroomreno_vanity I just love the pretty feet of this vanity on the dark wood floors. I will do a full reveal once we are finished and include all sources. I will also be doing a post on the thoughts I have after tiling ourselves. Let’s just say . . . it was a lot more work than I had imagined. We are patiently waiting on our light fixture from School House Electric to arrive. Oh, and the vanity would benefit from a faucet. Much to do still as well as some fun design surprises. Stay tuned! In other news, if you entered the Martha Stewart Paint Giveaway, the winner was announced here!

In my opinion there is little more elegant than white with a marble top in a bathroom. I love the gray lines in the marble that create their own design. This cabinet is looking very pretty. Thank you for sharing.

You are always so kind. It has been some serious sweat equity but really fun to work on. Thanks for the sweet compliment.

Hi Meghan. . .those came on the vanity from Allen & Roth. Will source it all in the final reveal! I am sucker for the traditional and classic details.

Yay for not having to spray that beauty! And getting it up the stairs! We looked at that vanity too, but ultimately I was concerned about constantly losing things in the gap between the vanity and wall. I was afraid it'd be like what's happening between the fridge and counter in our Kitchen! #whoknowswhatsinthere :O 😉

I have a question for ya. Is the floor leading into the bathroom hardwood? I'm wondering how the transition from real wood to the wood tile is, 'cause I'm LOVING the tiles I keep seeing everywhere. Can't wait to see the finished room.

Great question. This is off of a hallway upstairs that leads to the children's bedrooms and it is carpeting. That is always something to look at. Part of our flooring choice was made in how it would look next to the carpet. Great great comment!

It is so beautiful… We are building a new house and want this exact same look.. We found a similar vanity at lowes. Is that where you got yours… I'm a religious IG follower (15009 farmhouse) but have just now checked out the blog… Love it.

Did you ever do a full reveal of the bathroom renovation? I don't recall ever seeing it in my feed. I would love to see it! Love reading your blog! You are so talented. I especially appreciate the fantastic relationship you have with your husband and family. I too believe that is so important! Can't wait to see the full bathroom reveal!
