The Botanical Beauties

April 14, 2011 by Courtney 42 Comments

My new favorite prints are now hanging on my wall! I am so excited. If you missed my post earlier this week, I let you know about a great site where you can print gorgeous botanical prints for free. They are now happy as can be in my dining room. And what I love most is that this space is still staying nice and neutral. I want to be able to infuse any jolt of color depending on my mood or season. These prints stay neutral while adding some interest to the wall. IMG_0444 IMG_0428 {Ignore the non planted plants in the courtyard . . . oops!} IMG_0433   IMG_0432 And I was just testing out a new runner I picked up at World Market. This is exactly why I like keeping this space neutral. It’s fun to add a runner like this and it’s not competing with anything else in the room. {of course I still have to redo my dining room chairs but I haven’t had the time yet!}   IMG_0441 I picked up the frames at Wal-Mart. I sprang for the $12 frames as my artwork was free and I wasn’t up for matting my own pictures this time. Opening the backs and popping these suckers in was quite nice. I had originally planned to hang them in my living room, but they just weren’t working. The balance was off and I knew I had to move them to a different spot.   IMG_0443 And I have a very special delivery that is on it’s way. Here is a hint. It rhymes with pandalier. Once that arrives it will be time to roll up my sleeves and get working on the chairs. They look great! In the first picture, it looks as if your pass through window is a mirror. Can't wait to see the new chandy. I saw that table runner at WM yesterday. The print is perfect for spring. I am loving our more neutral dining room for the same reasons.

Would you happen to remember the name of the paint color of the room. We need to get our house ready to rent. I'm looking for some universally pretty with lots of white trim and detailing. Thanks

Ok…so I became so excited when I stumbled upon your blog for the first time the other day, and I was even more excited when I saw I could get FREE botanical prints. I've been wanting some, but I haven't had the time OR the money to get any. As a teacher, you seem to have too much month at the end of the money! Ha!

Now, I'm even happier to know that I can go to the trusty ole Wal-Mart to pick up some matted frames! When you come from a VERY small town and the best thing you have is a Wal-Mart, it's what you depend on.

Thanks for the tips and sorry for such a long comment!

The botanicals look wonderful! I just love your dining room. What is the paint color you used on the walls? I agree with your idea of keeping things neutral so you can change the accessories easier. My dining room is red and I have been thinking about going neutral for awhile. I am also exciting about that free website! Thanks for the tip!
