Botanical Print Bonanza

April 12, 2011 by Courtney 22 Comments

Ok. Do you ever discover something you think is so fabulous . . . and then think that you must be the very last one in blog land to know about it. Well, I am taking the chance that maybe someone out there hasn’t already found these gorgeous botanical prints via the Crafty Nest that are available to print for free. I have been scouring the internet for just the right set to put up in our living room. I have infused some more color in the room and the botanicals will bring one of our walls to life. I still need to mat my prints, so I can’t show you the wall yet. However, I wanted to show you a sneak peak of these prints and let you know that you can download them as well. The Botanicus Digital Library has volumes dating back to 1450. That in and of itself makes me happy. I love the historical aspect of these. It took me a few minutes {maybe more} to navigate the site so I will give you some tips. After going here, you will click on the window to the left that says pages. You choose a page and it will show you one of the botanicals. The little box to the right will help you to view the entire page as well as to download it. You can save them to your computer and print them out. b2b6b10 I would love to fill an entire wall with them. I will show you my finished project soon. My husband thought I was a little nutty with how excited I was to find these. I really did do the happy dance while waving one around that I had printed {he was less enthusiastic as he was under the sink installing a new garbage disposal} Good times! And if you have a moment, head on over to A Well Dressed Home. Emily was kind enough to ask me to share one of my favorite projects {my kitchen}. If you haven’t already checked out her blog you will want to cozy up with your coffee and do so. She is a remarkably talented designer. A Well Dressed Home - Emily Hewett Have a great day!

Thanks for sharing that site Courtney. They remind me of the prints my Granny had in some books she had. Might have to print some to prop in my library shelves for summer!

I love this! # 37 is my favorite so far–will spend some time later figuring out which ones to print. Funny thing is, I just finished painting some yard sale frames and was looking for something to put in them. I think i might have found it! 🙂 Thanks!
