I hope that your Sunday was a beautiful one. I know that Mother’s Day means something different to all of us. I know that as life moves forward, sometimes our relationships or circumstances evolve and change. However you spent the day, I hope that it was special and that the signs of Spring are bringing a smile to your face. I grew up with a mom who always set a beautiful table. I wanted to do that for her this year. I kept it really simple but the overall impact was cheerful. Just what I had hoped for. My sweet husband had brought these flowers to me on Saturday. I let them set the stage for the rest of the table. I had planned to use white roses, but I couldn’t resist the gorgeous orange, green and yellow. The green rimmed tray is a HomeGoods find and the polka dot napkin set inside is from Anthropologie. I used things from around the house to create this fun colorful look. The floral table runner is simple a roll of wrapping paper stretched across the table. I have been doing this a lot lately. I think I just love the look of so many papers out there an with two kiddos joining us, it’s always nice to know I don’t have to worry about spills. If the paper stays clean and dry I can roll it up to use it again. And if not, that’s okay is it is just paper and can easily be tossed. This floral paper was found at Target and was leftover from when I did my daughter’s closet office space. These dishes are almost 11 years old. I had registered for these as well as a set of white when we got married. I believe they were Crate and Barrel. I have always loved how happy and cheerful they are. And no surprise the rim is covered in stripes. My obsession dates back! I grabbed a roll of coordinating ribbon from my ribbon collection {which is sadly dwindling}. I believe this preppy stripe one was found at Hobby Lobby. Simply wrap it around the cloth napkin and secure with a piece of washi tape. The flower is a from a set of Martha Stewart Stickers. So easy and simple. And because I used washi tape, they easily came undone and I can save these homemade napkin ties. We pulled out the crystal glasses {which sadly we never use} because I have always loved the way they look with fresh orange juice in them. It was a beautiful morning spending time with my mom and family. My sweet hubby prepared the most delicious breakfast and I was able to spend some quality time chatting with my mom. I know that I am lucky to do so. So the next time you are setting a table, consider mixing patterns and color with wrapping paper. So inexpensive and easy. Many of you asked about my dress. It is from White House Black Market but not recently. I have always been a huge fan of their quality. They last and seem to be timeless. This one has a similar cut and this white one is a great sale price. And this maxi is on sale, too.
