Darling Dresses Turned Cover Ups

Hi all! Some of you may have seen my Instagram post yesterday about summer cover ups. This is actually a pretty funny story. Last year, I was walking through Forever 21 and saw the cutest cover up. I scooped it up and wore it all summer long. It was a great look over my black swimsuit and so many people asked me where I bought it. The embroidery on it is beautiful and it just has a really fun, unique look. I went online to find it and couldn’t locate it on the site anywhere. Then I realized . . .it wasn’t a cover up at all. It was a dress. Well, hello! Who can wear a short, see through dress on an average day? Well from that point on I looked at dresses in a whole different light! Now when I see a dress that is lightweight, too short and very diaphanous . . . I think cover up! I rounded up some of my favorites this season. Not sure why the model looks so thrilled. Maybe she’s like, “Hey. This dress is see through. It should be a cover up, not a dress!” Yep. I feel ya, girl. So here is mine below. I posted a blouse on here that I can’t order because it sold out. These tanks are ribbed, casual, and super duper cute. Only $20. I wear a size small. It is cut in and has a racer back. So cute alone or as a layering piece. I bought gray and white. And while walking around Nordstrom the other evening, I saw this dress. So much prettier in person and an awesome weight to the lace. I get asked about my white lace dress all of the time and this one is so similar. Highly recommend after seeing it in person {not as short as it looks online, too}. one | two  | three And these cute scarves just came in. I love wearing a really light weight scarf with a tank and shorts in the warmer months. Also really pretty on a casual sundress. pom pom scarf  And this one is so dang cute. It comes in so many pretty colors. I think I like the lime green and gray above. I thought these would make darling gifts, too, for any spring or summer birthdays you may be shopping for. My daughter’s teacher is crazy stylish and this might be a fun one to give her. And now I am off to celebrate my best friend with a birthday breakfast by the beach. My life is so much better with her in it. She is one of those friends who has been through it all with me. We have known each other since before our husband’s were in the picture and I can’t imagine my life without her. There is something so priceless about a real and true girlfriend.
