If you have been hanging out with my for a while on this little blog, then you know about the Take 5 Series. I love to bust out quick projects now and again. It makes me feel good to be productive without taking on a major project. We all know that our list of major projects is never ending. I also love to showcase your speedy projects so I am brining the series back. More about that down below. So today, I am showing you the headband stand I made for my daughter after being inspired from this post. Can you tell I discovered a new editing tool in Picasa. I had a little fun with the color! And ignore the raw wood of the new dressers. I am still deciding which option to go with! If you have young girls in the house, than you probably know the curse of the headband. They are darling and I actually love that my little one gravitates towards them, but they can be a mess. Not to mention the fact that we were losing one a week. So in five minutes we took an oatmeal container {below} and simply wrapped a neutral piece of wrapping paper around it. I taped it to secure it to the container and voila. I added one of the flowers that she and I both like to wear to the top just for a feminine touch. I liked the idea of elevating it so a leftover cake stand from her Bake Shoppe Birthday Party works perfectly. Cassie from Hi Sugarplum made one for her daughter. You can see the full post here. She had seen this one on Pinterest made by lyssa beth. So darling. Check out her post here. ………………..{DIY} Clip Holder And since we are on the topic of “hair accessory clutter” it thought I would show you the other place we keep the clips and flowers. I think I shared this a while back. I took a piece of artwork I no longer care for and sprayed the frame antique white. Then I just covered the glass with one layer of batting and fabric. I strung a piece of ribbon down the front so she can clip her bows. This has worked well for over a couple of years now. There is nothing glamorous about how I did it. The back looked a little messy so I just cut a piece of felt and glued it right over my mess! Then I strung ribbon through the staples that were already on the frame. And this hangs close to her dresser where the headbands are so she can always grab what she wants in her hair each day. ……………….share your project! So now it’s your turn! Calling all readers! Please send me your quick project idea. I would love to feature projects that are relatively speedy {an hour or less} and that can be easily duplicated by readers. I look for DIY projects that are centered around organization, decorating, gifts, and more. If you are interested, please send one photo and a brief description of your project, or a link to a blog post, via my email athoughtfulplaceblog@gmail.com If I feature your project, I will get more details from you. Please use “Take 5” in the subject line. Now get cracking . . . let’s bust out some speedy projects and share them with the blog world! have a great day.

I need to do a bow holder for my little one. Now getting her to wear them is whole other story!

I think I need to make one of those. We've been using a white urn but some of her headbands slide off – this could be the perfect solution and I like that you can put stuff inside too! My girl has more accessories than I do- it's bananas!

So perfect for a little lady room! I love that the hair accessories are on display so they never get forgotten or become a jumbled mess in a drawer. Adorable!

Four words: my. daughter. needs. this.
We should be oatmeal eaters…and I mean the non-packet-oatmeal-eater kind. 😉 I think I'll be making a trip to the store this week…and will also be baking a few dozen oatmeal cookies.
Love how yours turned out!
So glad you're bringing the Take 5 series back! I FINALLY made my chevron curtains, but those are NOT a 5 minute project. Lol!

Love this…bows are so cute, why not display them?! Riley's is so cute.

This is always such a fun series. How cute are those headbands all stacked up like that?
Looking forward to seeing more.

I love this, it's such a cute display. I bet you could affix a paper towel roll to the cover inside so the canister could do double duty– headbands outside and scrunchies inside on the tube.
Wow, I just referenced scrunchies. That's a first.

So glad I found this! I knew a clever mom would have come up with something for those headbands and I was just searching for it!!! My daughter has headbands everywhere!! I will make sure to link this when I use it! Thanks!

Forget kids- I NEED THIS! I've been collecting head bands since I was 6. I am soon to be 21 and head bands are my signature accessories. I have a whole basket of them (and my collection grows every time I go to stores like Clair's ) and searching for one to wear every morning is so frustrating. This is perfect! I can make it to match my bath room plus I can open it and but my barrettes and other hair pins and clips inside of them. I love this!

Just stopped by from iHeart Organizing (from your white basket post). I love this idea, but have you ever considered putting extra bows INSIDE the headband holder? Since it's an old oatmeal container with a lid I think that might even work better than having the basket in the bathroom. That way all of her hair accessories are still in the same area rather than some in one room and a few in another. Just a suggestion in case you hadn't thought of it. Anyway, love the blog! Have a wonderful day!
