Easy Christmas Décor: Using Children’s Artwork

December 3, 2012 by Courtney 12 Comments

Happy Monday! I had grand plans to show you a little home tour of our Christmas décor today but alas life got in the way. Our very loyal and hard working washer and dryer finally said goodbye. Well, they are technically still here and waiting to be picked up on Tuesday. Honestly, it’s the very last thing I wanted to replace. I even busted out the leopard duct tape in hopes of taping anything I could back together. No such luck. So much of our weekend was spent researching and purchasing a new set. Boo. But we also tucked in a ton of snuggle time and cozy Christmas tree gazing due to the rainy weather we are having. No complaints here! One of my favorite Christmas décor tricks is to use those cute paintings and drawings the kiddos do in school. Two years ago, my daughter painted a darling tree on a white gift bag using the sophisticated fork method! I love this bag and chose to cut the tree out and simply stick it on the wall so it is front and center. This frame normally stands empty on our gallery wall, but for Christmas we fill it up!   artstairs   Oh, and avert your eyes from the naked garland. Work in progress. If you follow me on instagram {@athoughtfulplace} you will have seen a sneak peek of my colors this year! We are rocking around the Christmas tree with some fun pops of color this year! And the stripes just make me giddy {they are from Home Depot!}   instaorna While the laundry is piling sky high I am busy finishing up some Christmas crafts and décor. If you have a moment, pop in tomorrow so I can show you what I have been up to. Enjoy your Monday!

Sorry about your washer/dryer. We just went through that a few months ago. I'm liking the peek of your colors…fun and bright! Children's artwork is the best. Your daughter's tree looks great front and center on the wall. I bet that makes her proud, too.

So excited to see your Christmas decor. And using children's artwork is such a great idea. My mother- and father-in-law have a gallery wall in their living room filled with artwork that their kids (now fully grown) made as kiddos. 🙂 Love it!

Even though my kids are grown and no longer living at home, I love your gallery wall and having a space specifically for showcasing their art work. I'm going to pin this because you inspired me to redo a wall in my entryway!
