Fall is slowly making an appearance in our home. I typically keep it very simple during this season and save my big projects for Christmas! So simple and easy is what I am all about. I am blessed in that I receive a fun package of goodies each month as part of the 12 Months of Martha program. This month I was sent the Vintage Décor Paint Set and a collection of pretty colors. I have always wanted to redo a piece of furniture so this was my test project. Without a doubt I LOVE this paint and the antique wax. It’s a total game changer. Can’t tell you how fool proof this project is. Check it out. While the idea of a board to place pumpkins on, many not be life changing, this paint process was for me. I now have a chic little pumpkin display and the confidence to tackle more projects. Here is what I used. SUPPLIES USED: Vintage Décor Paint {smoke } | Vintage Décor Brush | Vintage Décor Antique Wax | damp cloth | piece of wood We randomnly had this piece of wood in our garage as a scrap from another project. It happened to be the exact size I was looking for. You can pick up a 2 x 4 at the local hardware store {check their scrap bin . . .it’s awesome}. I used the Vintage Décor Paint in Smoke. It’s a pale gray. This brush is crazy awesome. A little goes a long way to create a nice coat. The idea is that it will dry nice and chalky. They make a clear wax to go over this and an antique wax. via I allowed the paint to dry and then used the Vintage Décor Antique Wax. This is where the magic happens. It’s AMAZING. You need very little! Put a small amount on your piece and use the brush to lightly cover the surface. Then use a damp warm rag to rub off all of the excess. What you are left with is the most amazing project that looks like it’s been worn through the years. Keep in mind I did not sand a thing! This is all due to the Antique Wax. It’s hard to believe no sanding was involved. I am in love with the finish. It looks so rustic and pretty. I have this little pumpkin display on my mantel which I will show you more of tomorrow! Do you suddenly want to paint something? I am serious. This project gave me so much confidence to paint a bench or fun piece of furniture soon. It could not have been easier and I love the results. Have you used this before? If you are looking for this paint, my go to spot for shopping for more Martha Stewart supplies is Michaels. Be back to show you how this little project put the finishing touch on our Fall mantel. You can check out my previous 12 Months of Martha projects here.

How would you do this on a larger scale? This is exactly how I want my kitchen table to look.

Well. . . good question. I haven't done it yet but plan to do this on a larger scale project. I would think it would be the exact same thing. If I were you I would tackle a small project like I did to get the feel for how the paint and wax work. Let me know if you tackle it!

Love how this turned out. I am confident painting larger pieces, and have done many, but have not seen this paint yet. I love the weathered look.

So pretty Courtney! I have used that paint and love it. I did my neighbor's dining chairs for her. They turned out great! Your photos are beautiful.

I love that you used this paint as I picked up a bottle last week at Micheal's to paint a piece of furniture. Your board turned out so cute! I have my pumpkins lined up in a wooden trough from an antique sale years ago which looks similar to your painted version. Great job!

I love white pumpkins, too. They look scarier and more vintage, kind of heirloom and ghostly! Perfect for Halloween. I'm having my first book signing for my vintage romantic ghost story book and maybe I should give away baby white pumpkins? Hmmmm. Would that be a nice gift at a signing?
