Family Room Before & After

January 26, 2012 by Courtney 33 Comments

Thank you so much to Megan for featuring our son’s room yesterday! What an honor. Today, I am so excited to share with you a room that is near and dear to my heart. One of my closest friends, Kim, asked me to help her with her makeover. It was quite a project as they expanded their space, reconfigured the kitchen, chose new countertops, painted, and installed new wood floors. Overall, they were hoping to lighten and brighten the space. They are one of the most fun loving and active families that I know, so their space needed to reflect that. Many of you have emailed me about the Waverly Ellis fabric that my just four things clients is using. Kim, used it in her space and it is stunning. Her is a peek at the new family room. …………………… family room IMG_6953 I know we all love a good before and after so thank you to Kim for letting me share. The room once started out looking like this. What a change. And you might recognize that one of those little cuties is my daughter {back in the day}. She is the one on the right sporting this oh so fantastic pink cowboy hat. We all go way back! …………………………. the before image That wall behind the cutie pies with the large TV now looks like this: ………………………….. the after IMG_6985   IMG_6954 IMG_6958IMG_6962 {those cute family photos were taken by Jylare. She is amazing! Don’t you love how they coordinate with the room!} IMG_6964 Kim created a great piece of art that reflects special places for their family. IMG_6966 Cute storage box is from Target. IMG_6967 IMG_6979IMG_6982IMG_6990 I think the space really exudes a light and bright feeling. Any time you pop in, it is full of life and the sounds of little ones running around. Thank you to Kim and Bill for letting me help you with this makeover. A few sources: paint color: agreeable gray {sherwin-williams} fabric: waverly ellis chevron pillow: target   ……………………………Have a great day!

This looks so great. I love the special piece of artwork your friend made. The overall look of the room is fresh and clean and comfortable. I just bought that same chevron storage for my Nursery. Wish I would've seen the pillow too!

Such a huge change Courtney. It looks great–I love the openness and all the sunlight that the room is exposed to. I am also sort of obsessed with the window treatments. Great work!

I LOVE it- the pics look amazing in the space. So light & airy- very much the easy, casual and light feeling we are going for in our sunroom:

Hi Courtney, Can you please tell me where you bought those picture frames from? Also, did you have to change the hue in these pictures to match your colors?
