Final Christmas Touches

December 9, 2010 by Courtney 25 Comments

So I have finished the last of the Christmas decorating touches {I think}. I have been eyeing these beautiful wreaths you all have been throwing together. I saw Rene’s amazing boxwood wreath at Cottage and Vine.

And Cassie’s magnolia wreath over at Hi Sugarplum! 100_1703 And since I even have a magnolia tree, I thought I could pull this off for sure. I was wrong. I just don’t have it in me! I have entered the lazy zone. I look in awe at what you all are putting together and simply retreat into my corner. So I will show you the last few touches . . . let’s just say they are simple, simple, simple! IMG_8540                                I took my grapevine wreaths and simply added a bow and an ornament. IMG_8542                    Hard to see in the photos, but the bows look really pretty with the sunlight streaming in. IMG_8543 Ornaments from Big Lots tossed in my urn {this urn was originally gold and I sprayed it using antique white spray paint}. IMG_8544                                                  I love this printable from Betty Crocker Wannabe IMG_8545IMG_8550 Trying to snap these shots was a little difficult as my little ones never shy away from a camera and they were so happy blowing bubbles that I didn’t even ask them to move! IMG_8518 IMG_8521                                            Our back door is a simple wreath with a pretty satin ribbon. IMG_8552IMG_8553 And our garage door {from the outside} has a little touch of Christmas as well. It makes me smile when I pull the car in the garage! IMG_8557 And lastly, these beautiful stockings were made by our grandma for the children. They are so special because they are not only made with love, but they are lined with pillow cases that belonged to our great grandma and grandpa. I love that. My hubby and I need a couple of burlap stockings to compliment them don’t you think! {did you notice they hang a different way than all stockings . . think that means I need to make them myself!} IMG_8559                               Have you added any final touches? I would love to see them!

I have the same metallic colored ornaments, I found them at the dollar store! I have them on a glass cake platter with some curled wrapping ribbon on top. There is a photo of it here:

Courtney! Our stockings are made by our grandma, too! She made me mine when I was 1 year old, so it's 19 years old now. I just adore it. It looks very similar to Riley's. I can't wait to show you. Also, I love that printable…what a perfect verse to have on display.

I've gotten a case of the lazy's too lately! I like how you've pulled everything together so nicely. Those kiddos are adorable blowing bubbles- your son's mouth while he blows is cracking me up! 🙂 So sweet! What a precious gift those stockings are.

Your wreaths are beautiful, Courtney. I love the simplicity of them with the bow and ornament. I think you posted a wreath awhile ago with just a bow and that's when I decided that's what I was going to do. You inspired me! I love a fun, big bow on a wreath! How special those stockings are! Your kids are adorable. Such fun photos with the bubbles! I haven't gotten to final touches yet….just starting decorating now. I'm slow going this year. Your home looks beautiful.
