Friday Eye Candy: “Bloom”

April 1, 2011 by Courtney 29 Comments

Happy Friday! Okay. . . let’s discuss the title of this post! So I created my Friday Eye Candy and told my hubby that I needed a cute title for images about blue rooms. Without delay he immediately says, “bloom”?” To which I say, “Huh?” He then proceeds to explain that  blue + room = bloom. I laughed so hard that I had to use it. So thanks to the hubs for the post title today! I am not sure what it is, but I am crazily drawn to blue these days. Every shade of it! Maybe it’s my sensing that warm summer days with blue ocean water are just around the corner. Or maybe it’s the fact that I keep stumbling upon images like these that make me swoon.  Either way, there is something very calming and serene about the use of blue.

This is just adorable.  So do you have a “bloom?” Are you as inspired by blue as I am? Hope you all have a wonderful and somewhat restful weekend!!! h a p p y    a p r i l

Blue is such a tranquil and relaxing colour. Combined with white is one of my favourite all time combinations. Great images here Courtney. I wish I was thinking of blue water and swimming, we've winter approaching, commencing with a cold and grey day today. I'm thinking I need to pull out my ugg boots tonight as my feet are cold. No more open toe shoes here! 🙂

Love smokey gray blues! I DO have a "bloom" (too funny)…my master bedroom…which of course I blogged about. 🙂 It's also on HGTV Rate My Space! That's scary putting yourself out there like that! Was doing great last time I checked, but that was a while ago. 😉 Who knows. Lol.

    Wanna see?

(Doesn't everyone like looking inside someone else's home? Or am I weird? 🙂

Thanks for all these pretty pics to look at!

I am loving the 4th room. I am a renter–so painting is out of the question for me right now with where I live–but I have lots of blue throw pillows and accents. So–I am "blooming" too. 🙂

The title is adorable and I know the post is all about blue… but what I am drawn to most are those gorgeous yellow chairs! Oh sweet love, how on earth do I reconfigure my entire living room design to incorporate them? 🙂

I am more of an earth tones girl, but I absolutely love glass bottles, especially blue bottles so my kitchen is mostly black/white/blue. Feels so fresh!

It's funny, we used to have A LOT of blue in our home and then I tired of it. Now I am loving it again…more light blues and aquas where before it was more navy/china blue.

the "hubs" creating bloom = perfection

I've always loved blue for decorating: not just because it's my favorite color, but because it puts me in such a relaxed mood. (and I could probably use some relaxation) We're painting our living room a nice shade of slate gray, and I can't wait to pick out shades of blue to go with it.

And that second picture is totally swoon worthy – thanks so much for sharing!

I also am a huge fan of blue. We are going to paint our office "hale navy" and our guest room and laundry room are painted "yarmouth blue" both by benjamin moore. Love blue! The images you chose are gorgeous. The dark blue room with the glossy finish is amazing!

Love your clever hubby's title! I also love the bedroon photo and that gorgeous color on the walls. We've been toying with different soft blue grays for our bedroom. There are so many to choose from! I have been drawn to blue more and more the last couple years. It's a serene color…I think. The last photo of the little girl is priceless! Those curls, sweet dress and her expression is adorable!
