Friday Eye Candy: College is Calling

September 7, 2012 by Courtney 17 Comments

Happy Friday, everyone! September marks the start of the school year and so many parents are sending their kiddos back to school or  to college for the first time. It can be an overwhelming transition, but we all remember finally finding our stride and enjoying some of the best years of our lives. I look back and laugh because one of my biggest concerns when heading off to Notre Dame was whether my roommate would want to decorate the same way I did. Oh, boy. Lucky for me, I was blessed with the most amazing roommate, Maureen, who has grown into the most beautiful wife and mother. She also put up with my nutty plan to recover my very first piece of furniture. It was a sad sad outcome. Our poor armchair sported a horrible plaid fabric for much too long thanks to me. Oh, well. I guess our tastes evolve and change. Maureen, thanks for putting up with me and my decorating drama. ………………………college cool Today’s eye candy is courtesy of Kate from Centsational Girl. My jaw fell to the floor when I saw what she did with her stepdaughter’s off campus room. Hot bananas! It’s gorgeous. I think you will agree that this room is inspiration for all of us no matter what age we are. centsational girl centsational girl centsational girl That chair is calling my name. You can see all of the details, sources and more photos here. It truly is a beautiful space. ……….. And to all of you getting settled into school, whether you are far from home or nearby, hang in there and savor these years ahead of you. The world awaits you and all that you can do. h a p p y   f r i d a y

Yes- so funny how our style evolves! I would have loved to see that chair:) I hadn't seen the CG post yet- thanks for sharing. College rooms don't have to be awful! Luckily, since James is only in preschool, I'm not even gonna think about college rooms yet! 🙂 I am starting to think about a big boy room though.

Man, I want to go back in time and be Kate's stepdaughter so I can have a college room like that… and I wouldn't mind being an undergrad again. LOVE the quatrefoil bedding and mirror.
