Friday Eye Candy: Island Paradise

August 12, 2011 by Courtney 20 Comments

While we are away at the lake, I thought I would talk islands with you. Why not! While I feel very fortunate to have the kitchen we do, I long to have my very only island one day. Here is a collection of amazing center islands. I love how they always seem to be the gathering place for homework, great conversation, and fun family gatherings.

via pinterest  While I love something about every single one of those islands, this last image is calling my name. Loudly. I can just see myself whipping up a batch of cupcakes in this pretty place! I love the arch over the oven, the marble, the pendant lights, and of course the green accents. And I love the size. It’s inviting and beautiful without being gigantic. I would pack my bags and head for this island any day!

And what about you? Any island dreams these days? Hope you are all off to a great Friday and weekend!

Love our island. While it isn't too big, it has served numerous purposes over the years!

we all know the numero uno place to hang in the house is the kitchen. these are all lovely. i'd love to hang in any one of these. we are a navy family and left our beloved house in san diego. we miss our big island kitchen. but all is well, we'll return some day.
    happy friday to ya.

I would like to be ON an island – someplace in the Caribbean perhaps? But I'm also dreaming of the day I can rip out my kitchen and have a long island with lots of space for kids and friends to sit at and chat with the cook!

Very beautiful islands, no matter which you choose, it'll be great! We totally rebuilt our kitchen and we have a table like island, for family gatherings, eating, playing cards, or even bingo with my granddaughters, yeah, they're terrific for a family. I love it like you, everything very functional and organized, not forgetting the beauty part, either. Hope, when you can, to visit my post: Total Kitchen Rebuilding. Have a great weekend. FABBY

I love islands too….they are the best. I currently live in an apartment and I have the best island but we are upgrading to a 2 bedroom and sadly….my new kitchen will be lacking an island. Sad sad day

I like that first one, and the stools are great – but I need something with a back – ha! These are all really great – I'd love to have any one of these islands. But I could also handle Hawaii, Fiji..etc.
