Ellen Small of Newport Beach, CA turned to Los Angeles architectural designer Virgil W. McDowell to carry out her vision for this amazing 1950s home. He is known for a classic style deeply rooted in the historical attributes of a home. I just want to take my shoes off and kick back in this house. Divine. Oh, and check out the mirror in the kitchen. Interesting trend {new Veranda magazine has another great kitchen picture with a mirror above the range}. You can see all the details of this 1950s Newport Beach home in Traditional Home Magazine. I am a sucker for the white kitchen with the gorgeous dark trimmed chairs and red cabinet. I also love the pop of pink in the all white bathroom. See anything you like?

Love that red cabinet in the kitchen…great color choice! The mirror over the stove is beautiful, but my micro is over my range now, and even with the vent fan…steam is a demon to the micro glass door! I can only imagine how often they are cleaning that mirror!

I love how much 'white' there is. It looks so clean and airy. Also very impressed with the bold colour on the china cabinet.
