Well, our summer is officially coming to a close with this long weekend. We are looking forward to a string of BBQs, pool time, and the beach. I hope you all have fun plans with the people you love. And for those mamas who already sent their kiddos back to school, I hope the transition has been smooth and that you have had some much deserved moments of quiet. In honor of our children, here are some fantastic spaces that keep kids organized. Happy Friday, ya’ll {my hubby pointed out that I become southern when I write my blog. Who knew?} Loving those jumbo flash cards. But the real key here is erasable labels. I have been using all chalk labels lately and it’s so nice to be able to switch them up as children grow in and out of phases or as their collections change. This grid for artwork was made with pieces of lattice. They sprayed them and adhered them. However, with all the darling tape out there, I am thinking you could easily use colorful tape to create a quick and removable grid. Pretty awesome way to fill a wall as well. I spy an Ikea curtain panel wrapped around that seat cushion. Super cute. I love the space for shoes. Realistically I would put buckets in each cubby to hold more. This looks cute, but lets face it . . . storage is key. You could easily add more with plastic bins or baskets. The wall treatment and hooks. Dreamy. What caught my eye here is that they used leftover cereal boxes! That’s right! So teach the kiddos the value in repurposing while giving empty cereal boxes a new shape and look with contact paper. What I appreciate here is the idea of a bench rather than a chair. It provides added storage and mom or dad can sit along side the child when help is needed. {all images via marthastewart.com} Now if you have a drawer this big I already hate you. But that aside, great use of space and they stenciled a sample of where everything goes. I like teaching kids that things have a spot from early on. Good practice. ……………. I will be back next week to share some of my organization ideas to kick off the year. And get your ideas ready. Another Keep C.A.L.M. and Carry On link party is coming your way. I have been going back and forth on how to organize all the *millions* of papers being sent home with my kindergartener…those cereal boxes are going to save my hiney! Such a great idea (and cheap and easy, doesn't get better in my book!)! Don't worry, I use the "y'all's", too…but my husband thinks that makes me a Texan (c;

Brilliant effort! It's a nice idea of finding out the creativity of the kids and each kid is less or more creative so in this long holiday of summer we can try to reflect their thoughts through this way. Thanks for providing the idea and sharing your fabulous experience.
