Front Porch Plans: pattern + color

June 5, 2013 by Courtney 10 Comments

Summer is here! We have one more week of school but we have already started hanging out outdoors almost 24/7. We are blessed to live in a neighborhood where we can be outside with friends and neighbors to enjoy the weather and let the kiddos run around and play. Our front porch is our happy place. Not only do we use it to hang out on and watch the children, but my husband and I often sit out on the porch in the evenings. Once the kids go to bed, it’s our little place of peace and quiet where we can talk about our days, our plans, the children, and just relax and enjoy one another. This summer the plan is to bring in a huge amount of color into the space. I have always gravitated towards the navy or the little pop of color on the porch. This year, I am switching it up! And my sidekick decorator {my daughter} has been plotting and planning with me. Here is the plan. ………………….front porch plan porchplan We already have the white Adirondack chairs. My sweet parents gave those to us when we moved into our home. We have loved and enjoyed them ever since. Orange, yellow and green will play a huge role on the porch this year. I just want it to feel bright and welcoming. I also plan to use some sort of storage bench {as shown in brown above} to double as extra seating when neighbors pop over or when we entertain. They will be a good spot to tuck away blankets for cool nights as well as to store the children’s bike helmets. They use them pretty much every day and I am a little over grabbing them from the garage! It’s all about convenience this summer! ………………. We have already begun this infusion of bright color and hope to finish up this weekend. I will be back, fingers crossed, next week to show you the reveal. Almost time to kick up our feet and enjoy a chilled summer cocktail! welcome And to greet those who come to our door, I picked up a boxwood wreath from Target. I was craving the pretty green texture of it. We welcome summertime with open arms.

Oh lordy…I didn't need to know that boxwood wreaths are at Target. So much easier than making it myself. Love your plans both for the colorful porch and for enjoying your time with friends & family.

Love! We have the Ikea bench out back (just got it for our back porch redo that I posted about along with the table and chairs, love!) I am down to the accessories now. Hoping to pull in a little more green.

Such a fun and happy color scheme! You and your little sidekick work well together and have great taste. I popped in Target and must have missed those wreaths. I think another trip is in order.
