We are welcoming summer with open arms. The sun is shining and it’s time for the lazy days of summer on the front porch. We have so much fun watching the kids ride bikes or play with their friends out front and we wanted out porch to feel more like an outdoor room this summer. We still have some plans in the works, but we have made some major progress that I wanted to share with you today. Do you remember when I showed you my design board? I wanted to infuse a ton of color and pattern this summer. I really wanted it to be a space that brought about a happy and cheerful feeling. We really stuck to the board and have pulled together quite a few patterns using pops of green, yellow and orange. Thanks to our blooming bougainvillea, it’s easy to gain a pop of pink. They are my favorite flowers on our porch and do well all summer long. We have always been a fan of our white Adirondack chairs. They remind me of lazy, beach days and I like that the arms are always a great place to rest a cold drink. This bench is my daughter’s favorite spot. She actually calls it her outdoor bed and relaxes on this bench after she runs around or rides her bike. This is also their favorite place to eat a picnic lunch. Who needs our big table on the patio when you can eat on a small bench, right?! The birdhouse was built from scratch by my hubby and children. They had a ball creating the plans for it and making it themselves. We have fresh flowers in one of the rope vases I made. It is just rope wrapped around a soup can. A little bit of glue gun action and you have a great summer vase. When we don’t have fresh flowers, I admit I have a vase of faux yellow stems. Yes! That’s right. I LOVE having a splash of color out on my little table and if I don’t have fresh, I am not afraid to bring out the yellow faux stems. This is seriously my favorite spot to sit in the morning. With a cup of coffee and the sun pouring in, it makes for a pretty comfortable spot to relax. I forgot to snap a photo of our view, but here is one from Instagram. This foot stool is my favorite find. I found it at HomeGoods and it was the perfect piece to tie all of the colors together. It is really comfy for propping up your feet or serves as an extra seat if someone stops by. … ……………welcome, summer … This is only one side of our porch as it wraps around, but I am still working on some plans! We have a console table we are currently building and I am so excited to share it with you soon. Well, hopefully soon! You never know! But for now, we are enjoying this comfy and colorful spot. We even find ourselves curled up with cozy blankets and a glass of wine in the evenings. Below are some of the sources for the items I’ve picked up to create this space. {By the way. . . most things I bought are on sale. Sad for me, great for you!} Orange seat cushions: World Market Chevron Pillows: World Market Yellow Stripe Pillow: Pier 1 Herringbone Rug: Target Footstool: HomeGoods Bird candle: HomeGoods Gray Bench: Ikea Graphic Bench Cushion: HomeGoods Rope Vase & Birdhouse: DIY Adirondack chairs: World Market Thanks for popping over to our porch! Gorgeous! Love, love, love all the bright colors. We have been working on our back porch, but now this makes me want to move out to the front!! Your yard and view is beautiful. Love the chevron pillows. Elie bought the directors chair covers from WM in that pattern for her apartment balcony. So fun.

Lovely! Do you have a full shot of the whole set up from you're walkway? Love the detail shots but I think seeing the impact from far away would help me in stealing ideas. 🙂

Really nice Courtney! Again, you are giving me a huge dose of inspiration! I also have Adirondack chairs (we call them Muskoka chairs) on my front porch, but there's a serious lack of colour. Let's see if I can put together something like this for the weekend! 🙂 Thank you thank you for the wonderful ideas!
