Hi all. With it being Good Friday and Easter just two days away, I started to get a little sentimental {I do that a lot!}. I was scrolling through old IG photos and found our family photo from last Easter. I can’t believe how much younger my children look. It actually made me sad. But at the same time, just so joyous and appreciative of the great people they are becoming. I love their adventurous personalities and wide eyed view of life. It reminds me to see things through their eyes. To see the good in people, the humor in making mistakes, and the beauty in the very ordinary. Children really do lead us to appreciate life from a different perspective. And while I love that dress I wore {and still wear it} I started laughing thinking it looks a bit like Riley unleashed her mad paint skills on it. All the more reason to love it, I guess! Ha. And apparently navy is our color as the kids will be wearing it again this year. These tulips are such a ray of sunshine. I am a huge believer in having fresh flowers in the home when possible. I would much rather spend $5 on a bundle of fresh tulips than go grab a fancy coffee. I think they change the whole mood of a room. Even greens cut from the yard have a similar effect. I hope my son learns to bring his wife flowers, too! This week, I scooped up my son from school and took him on a date. I think it’s really important to take time out for each little one individually. I want to be more like my son. He is sweet and loving. He is excited about EVERYTHING. And better yet, he appreciates every little thing. He even thanked me for dressing “pretty” for the date. I want my children to know that it’s the time spent with one another that is of the utmost importance. Relationships make the world go round. While it’s not our best sellfie, it’s the only one I snapped and I am so happy I did to capture our fun afternoon. Thanks for letting me get a little sappy and personal on this Good Friday. See you back here tomorrow.

Such a sweet post! I was thinking the same thing about Taylor and how fast she is growing up. I love our conversations that we can now have, but it reminds me daily that she is no longer a baby. Happy Easter to you and your family!!

I love that you took your son on a date! What a sweet young man he is. How special that he thanked you for dressing pretty! My parents would take each of us on individual dates growing up and I have such fond memories of those special one on one outings. You have a beautiful family Courtney.

Awww…such a sweet photo of the family. I CANNOT get over how much the kiddos have changed. Riley looks so young in that photo compared to more recent ones.
Have a blessed Easter my friend!!

So precious. I need to go on dates with my boys. We have dinners alone every now and then, but calling it a date and planning it ahead of time would make it special. 🙂 Also, I love your living room! Yellow tulips are my favorite flowers!

Such a beautiful post and family! Happy Easter to you all! I try to take my boys on individual dates as well. It is something I know they will cherish and remember when they are older {I remember the few times my mother did this with me as a kid, so special}.

HAPPY EASTER! thanks for reminding me that i need to make it a point to go out on a "date" with the little guy instead of just driving him around his activities.
