I hope your week is going well. If you receive my newsletter, you may have seen the first look of our guest room window treatments. We couldn’t be more pleased and the ordering process was so easy. Not too long ago I shared about our Guest Room Dilemma.
THE BEFORE
When we moved in, we hung the striped drapes I had ordered for our California house. This fabric has always been a favorite of mine but I knew at the time they would be a place holder. We have ten foot ceilings so they were a bit too low and they didn’t block any of the sunshine this room receives first thing in the morning. Definitely a drawback when most of our visitors are from the west coast and don’t want to be awakened quite so early (two hour time difference).
I will always love stripes and will most likely see if I can use the fabric somewhere else in our home.
CUSTOM DRAPES (WITHOUT THE PRICE TAG)
rug | throw | sheets (on sale) | juju hat | duvet | pendant
These new drapery panels by Two Pages made all the difference. They are amazing quality. I followed the instructions for measuring and they are a perfect fit. The blackout lining I chose means no more early morning wake up calls. I went very neutral in case we ever introduce other colors in this room. Part of me wants to do that and part of my loves the soothing neutral feel.
Here is my exact order:
- Jawara Luxury Linen Cotton Blend
- Color: Oatmeal
- Header Style: Triple Pleat
- Size: 54″ x 111″
- Liner: Blackout
- Body Shape: memory training
I went with a more substantial rod and rings from here. We installed glide tape on the top of the rod (best invention ever) so that you can easily pull them shut and open them in the morning. I’m excited to add a few Christmas touches to this space very soon.
If you are in need of woven shades, they have really great cordless options. So pretty.
I’ve purchased custom drapes and they are very pricey. Two Pages gives you the same quality and feel but for far less. If you are on the hunt for window treatments, I definitely recommend this shop. In fact, we used them for our bathroom makeover as well (details here).
*Totally unrelated, but Our Place just launched it’s Black Friday sale and the prices are great (lowest prices of the year). We love their Always Pan, Perfect Pot and bakeware set.

They look beautiful!! This is completely unrelated but as a long time reader I am wondering if you still have your zgallerie sunburst mirror? I remember it from your California home and it was always a fav of mine! They no longer sell them so if you do not have a spot for it in your TN home I would love to purchase it from you. Thanks! 🙂

Lovely drapes! Thank you for the glide tape idea! We close our drapes every night and open them again every morning, and it’s annoying when the rings don’t glide smoothly over the rod. I never knew a solution existed, so thank you! It went right into my Amazon cart!

Thank you for this post! I want to replace the curtains/ drapes in our living room . The ones that came with the purchase of our home now look very dated and have faded from too much Texas sun. I will check this company out. Thanks again.

I’m getting ready to redo our 10 year old daughters room. She loves your guest room neutral palette. Are your walls /trim alabaster like most of your other rooms? I’m planning on swapping out her twin bed for a queen & love the oatmeal colored headboard you chose. I will most likely be going with your drapery panels & would like the glide tape for our bedroom rods. Your post has been an inspiration & I’m so grateful for all your ideas & work that put into your designs. Thank you Courtney!
