Happy Falloween!

October 10, 2011 by Courtney 17 Comments

Happy Monday to you all. We had a very busy weekend spent with good friends and family. It left very little time to do much around the house, but my kiddos have been begging for Halloween decorations. I have never been a huge Halloween décor girl. Instead, I like to mix fall and Halloween for more of a Falloween look {not really a word, I know}. So I had my sweet hubby grab the “Fall Décor” bin from high up in the garage and we recycled some of last years looks. IMG_4581 I pulled out our “Boo” letters from last year and added them to our mantel. You can read all about how to make your own here. I made them with things found around the house {and the stripe matting is a set of paper napkins from Target}. IMG_4587 And after my dad’s birthday celebration, I decided to keep the pumpkins in the glass jars. I love the natural look. IMG_4595 I also set out the ribbon pumpkins that I made last year. They were found at the dollar store and jazzed up with some ribbon. IMG_4625 IMG_4574 I was inspired by these fall ideas and simply wrapped the plant basket with burlap. I also like to stack books for added warmth and texture. {Thank you to my wonderful mother in law for the beautiful peace lily . . . it makes us smile!}. IMG_4616 We are working on adding some Falloween fun to the front porch. Stay tuned for what we come up with. What about you? Are you busting out some Falloween décor around your house?

I love the Falloween decor! I usually keep it more of Fall decor….I'm just to lazy to add witches, bats and spiders to my decor! I love the ribbon around the pumpkins, I did something similiar. The BOO pic frames…I love that idea and how well they held up from last season! Napkins?! That's a great idea!! Happy Falloween to you and your family!

I love your ribbons on your pumpkins! Such a great, simple idea, but it has a big impact.

Love how you incorporated fall and Halloween and didn't take it so far own the Halloween path {aka cobwebs, ghosts, spiders, etc!}. Perfect touches.

I love both of them, fall and halloween, but I was just too darned excited about Halloween and pretty much completely skipped fall decorating altogether…I know, I'm a slacker! What I should've done is your bril idea about recycling stuff from last year! The little boo letters are darling! I think I will have to revisit the fall decorations after Halloween…I love me some turkey, too…however I'm not sure my love of eating it translates into good decorating ideas…(c:

I'm not much for Halloween decorating either, but I love the ribbon pumpkins! I may have to add them to the mix this year!

I love your mantel…especially the burlap covered planter. I'm not sure why but that jumped out at me as a MUST DO!
