When we entertain, we like to have something fun to serve the adults. A special cocktail {non-alcoholic version too} is always a great way to greet hosts when they walk in the door. Let’s face it. People love to kick up their heels and relax and handing them a fun, colorful something to sip on is an easy way to create a fun atmosphere. This year we are serving up a Cranberry Ginger Cocktail. Super easy and really delicious. I don’t gravitate towards really sweet so this is a great one for me. And so easy to make the kids or non-drinkers one of their own. Ingredients
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 4 oz ginger beer
- handful of fresh cranberries
Instructions
- Combine the vodka and ginger in a shaker with ice. Shake & pour into a martini glass. Place the cranberries in a small bowl and use a muddler (or a spoon or fork) to smash them up a bit. If you want a lot of tang, really mash them up. Pour the cranberries and any juice you squeezed out on top of the cocktail and give it a quick stir.
Recipe via Entertainer’s Tip: Don’t go overboard with muddling the cranberries. During the holidays, it’s smart to stick to clear drinks in case of spills! No stains on your white carpet! {or anything else you want to keep clean}. This can also be a gorgeous drink on your table sans vodka. Ginger and cranberry makes for a yummy combination. Also really great served over ice in a highball glass. Happy entertaining from my home to yours! To see more of this Christmas table go here. And if you missed my home tour you can take a peek around here. And in totally unrelated news, I finally found two dresses for our holiday getaway. I just can’t decide between the two. Any thoughts. There is this metallic one and this sequin one. And my faux fur vest is on sale, too. Been living in it the last three days. UPDATE: Crazy awesome price on this really cute Tory Burch purse. It comes in black {which I need, Santa} and a beautiful cabernet color. *Blogging will be light the next couple of weeks as I soak up this time with my family. Learning more and more that we just can’t get this time back.

Either one of those dresses would look great on you. I think I like the metallic one a little bit more.
Your photography of your decor is so pretty!

YUM! I love ginger beer, I will definitely be making this. Give your kiddos a hug for me! xo

I like the metallic one better. The sequin one screams New Years Eve to me…unless that's when you're wearing it!

Ginger and cranberry sounds like a lovely combination! It's a pretty and festive drink, too. Your photos are always so so beautiful Courtney. You can't go wrong with either of those dresses with your killer long legs. Love both of them and how fun for your holiday getaway with your hubby.

I've never heard of ginger beer. What is the brand! That drink looks like a fun one to serve up for New Years as well! My vote is the black sequin from Express! Both would look great on you I'm sure!

It's the same thing as "ginger ale" soda. 😉

I will be making this. We just bought the new triple ginger brew at Trader Joe's this past weekend.
And the dresses are both great! I think I like the metallic one a little better, but I would buy the black, because I always wear black 🙂
