Holiday Haven: flip flops & pearls

December 15, 2010 by Courtney 18 Comments

I feel so lucky to have found Jade from flip flops & pearls {how do you not fall in love with that blog name}?  Her blog has oodles of inspiration photos and she always come through with a fantastic Monday Musing. Flip Flops & Pearls                          Here is one of her recent Monday Musing posts. Words to live by. Thank you so much Courtney for inviting me to be a part of your ‘Holiday Haven’ series! The holidays can get pretty stressful with all the decorating, shopping, baking, etc…! It is so important to have that one little thing that helps you decompress and enjoy the holidays a little more. My Holiday Haven is Starbucks. Ok, so it is my haven all year round too, but there is something special about that red cup! I treat myself all holiday season, breaking from my routine latte, and I order from the special (calorie laden!)  holiday drinks. That’s what the holidays are for right?? P1020295 My best holiday tip in keeping everything organized is lists. Santa has one and so do I! I definitely check it twice! My lists cover everything from gifts I need to buy, to menus for holiday get togethers, to important dates during the season. So, there you have it…my ‘Holiday Haven’ and my holiday tip!! xo Jade                                                                 ………………………………………………………………………………. Thanks, Jade. And I will leave you with my all time favorite quote posted by miss jade at flip flops & pearls. I think it’s a wonderful way to wrap up this series. A big thank you to all the bloggers who participated. If you missed any of the posts you can click here to see the series. “Be you, and be okay with it”. . . .beautiful advice.                                                           ………………………………………………….. And please go pop over to Michaela Noelle to  see a guest post about special holiday traditions I do with my family. Michaela Noelle

Certainly a great title. In Australia we call them thongs (flip flops) which doesn't have the same ring to it at all! Thanks Courtney for the recommendation. Sonia 🙂 x

I always need a list 😉 Shopping list, to-do-list, schedule list, garden list….. And if I can check off points, I'm happy 😉

The new caramel brulee is AMAZING, if you like sugar in the morning {and I do}. I think I would loose my head if I didn't have lists to keep myself organized!

Definitely a year-round haven for me, too! How could I get through college without it? She's right though– those red cups are enticing!

I have really enjoyed your Holiday Haven series, Courtney. I'm with Jade on splurging on the good stuff at Starbucks at this time of the year! Great quote! I loved your two traditions. The letter from Santa Claus is such a fun idea! We also make the gingerbread houses every year as a family and use them as our centerpiece. It's fun to get together to build our houses, listen to Christmas tunes, munch on the candy and talk and laugh.
