Holiday Haven: Roost

December 11, 2010 by Courtney 9 Comments

Have you met Marrissa from Roost? I just recently discovered her blog and she is great. First of all, I am in love with her header. But it goes much deeper than that!     roost My “Holiday Haven” is the piano in the living room of my parents’ home. I have always loved playing the piano, especially at Christmastime. I can spend hours playing though song after song with the backdrop of city lights and my mom’s beautiful tree. I also love listening to my dad or my sister play while I lay on the couch reading a book or play a game. We all seem to love Handel’s “Messiah” the most.
Picture 5 My best tip for keeping the holidays running smoothly is to get things done early! This is especially true of shopping. I really hate crowds and all the commercialism surrounding Christmas, so I shop for gifts little by little throughout the year. It also keeps the monthly budget more even if I shop in little bits here and there rather than all in one month.                                                       …………………………………………………………… Marissa is a girl after my own heart because much of my childhood included listening to my sister play Handel’s “Messiah” on the piano and other amazing songs. Thanks for bringing back such fond memories. Marissa is super talented and has a great eye for detail. Check out some of these fun things from her blog.     How great is this  Dorm Room Makeover.  Wouldn’t you like to be back in college and have your room look like this. Marissa also has impecible taste and style. Here are a collection of   Great Girl Gifts. Click here to see where to find all these darling things. {I for one would like to ask Santa for those bowls . . and those boots!}                             Thanks, Marissa, for being a part of the Holiday Haven series.

I want that dorm room to be my room right now!

And I would also like to have every single one of those gifts. Especially the purse… It's awesome.

Your parent's piano and the room surrounding it is beautiful. I loooove pianos. And I imagine plenty of Christmas carols are sung there this time of year. Perfect!

What a beautiful room! I could stay in there for hours, too. Fun that you play piano. I'd love to learn.

I'll have to check out Marissa's site. You had me at red boots 🙂

    Take care,
    Michelle
