Home Office Inspiration

October 6, 2010 by Courtney 5 Comments

I have been hoping to transform our home office work space into something we actually use! Right now it serves more as a spot to gather bills and piles that have no home. We are fortunate in that we have a spot for a home office workspace, however, my hubby and I share the space {a dedicated office all to myself is part of my fantasy world}. So in searching for inspiration I am attempting to marry the feminine and the masculine. Take a look at some of these great spaces. hb1 hb3 hb4 hb5 pb1 Completely in love with this blue space. It’s simple, welcoming, and the blue is dreamy. I would switch out the cube for a more realistic and comfortable chair. Maybe one with a fantastic blue and white Ikat print. pb2 pb3 Isn’t this orange and white chair great. I love the masculine desk paired with the feminine fabric. pb4 And the light and bright aspect of this space is gorgeous. I am loving the lamp and the shape of that chair. T. Keller Donovan hb There are so many things to love about this space. There is a spot for everyone in the family. The frames around the top of the room are amazing. And the starburst mirror is a nice touch of whimsy. I like how this space isn’t taken too seriously. While I love pouring over photos from magazines for inspiration, I LOVE when I see a real life transformation. Recently, Jylare from everyday pretty posted these pictures of her home office space. She managed to turn an under the stairs nook into an inspiring work space. I plan to use elements from her great space in our office spot. Didn’t she do a great job? jylare1 Love the pop of color with her green chair {sassy Target find} jylare2 jylare3 And she is a girl after my own heart as I have the same Ikea magnet board and LOVE it. Great place to display important notes and inspiration pieces. Her space looks great, don’t you think? You can read more about it here So many good  ideas. Time to get to it!

Love the all, but especially the blue and the House Beautiful picture…something about that fabulous long table! I love the nook under the stairs, very clever. We hung two of those Ikea magnet boards above my daughter's desk in her room and they are awesome. So useful!

That first one is amazing, very lofty! Currently I am sharing our office with our guest bedroom, so it is just a desk in the corner 🙁

I too love to see the real homes of people, not just the staged catalog/magazine shots:) Thanks for sharing such a cool space. I love your idea of the blue and white Ikat chair added to that one office. You have a great eye!
