Thanksgiving Tablescape

November 21, 2011 by Courtney 23 Comments

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Happy Thanksgiving week. My sweet parents are hosting Thanksgiving this year and it promises to be a beautiful day. I definitely get my love for all things home and setting festive tables from my mom. This year, since we are not hosting the big event, I wanted to put together a table that we can enjoy this week and because we will be having my parents to dinner on Wednesday night {to give them a break from getting ready!} The table this year is much different than in the past. I chose light and creamy colors, with only a touch of orange. And the best part is that it didn’t cost one penny.  I shopped my house and used a couple of fun printables as well. IMG_5273 For the centerpiece, I borrowed the silver dollar branches from somewhere else in the house and attached cute little flags {they were originally toothpick flags} that I found over at Simple as That thanks to Michelle at Ten June. IMG_5241IMG_5281IMG_5245 The vase is simply wrapped in a cableknit sweater sleeve. I posted more about that here. To allow the branches to stand up nicely, I stuffed the vase with newspaper and then added the raffia type material on top to cover that. IMG_5267 I fell in love with this printable {also from Simple as That} and knew it needed to be on our table. You can print one out as well. It reads, “ Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them is the true measure of our Thanksgiving. “ –W.T. Purkiser IMG_5277 IMG_5268IMG_5271 The gold chevron runner was a DIY project. You can read about that tutorial here. IMG_5272IMG_5279 I sprayed most of the little pumpkins gold to fill the glass jars. I had done that last year for each person’s plate after seeing Megan do something similar. I thought keeping the place card pumpkins orange would add a little bit of color and tie in the little flags as well as the framed printable. I used twine to tie on each person’s name and tucked one leaf under each pumpkin. IMG_5280 IMG_5285 IMG_5274 So the table is set and we are ready to focus on enjoying the family this week. So very thankful. Wishing you and yours a very wonderful Thanksgiving week. …………………………………………. For past table idea you can see more here: IMG_8164IMG_3245IMG_7859
