I’ve been exploding with excitement to announce the return of a really fun series. If you have been reading for some time, you may remember, “Just Four Things.” Lately, I have been very inspired in my own home to make small changes that create a big impact. I recently made changes in our dining room and our daughter’s room. Well, I am hoping to create a brand new space for one of you with just four things. I am a firm believer that you can really make a huge difference in a space by changing only a few things.
How does it work? I will work with one reader to infuse new life into their room with just four things. For example, we may choose to switch out a rug, bedding, lighting and artwork. And unlike the last time I ran this series, we will not do it in four weeks but in the time that it takes to create a great space.
Who is involved? Other than the homeowner, I will also be asking my readers for their input along the way and asking all of you what you think would look great in the space. Ultimately, the homeowner and I will make the final decisions since the client is the one who will be living in the room and needs to LOVE it.
How do I get chosen? Because this is the bedroom edition, I am looking for homeowners who need to refresh either a guest room, master bedroom or child’s room. If you can answer yes to all of the items below, I would love for you to submit your space via email.
- Am I willing to paint or have someone paint the room? {If necessary}
- Do I have a reasonable budget to spend on new items in the space? {design fee waved}
- Am I willing to jump in and work on the room as it is designed?
- Can I take natural light photos {before and after} to be posted on A Thoughtful Place {or do I know someone that can take the photos for me?}
- Am I comfortable taking measurements, purchasing items online and communicating via email?
- Am I super excited about a brand new bedroom?
How do I submit my bedroom?
- be sure you can answer yes to all of the questions above
- submit an email to: athoughtfulplaceblog@gmail.com
- attach 2 natural light photos showing the entire bedroom
- add “just four things submission” to the subject line
- include your name, city & state, and budget for the room
- include a link to a bedroom that inspires you
I will look forward to announcing the Just Four Things room soon! I can’t wait to work with one of you.
It’s my hope to inspire those of you reading to see that with just a few changes, you really can make a space feel current and beautiful. Maybe this will help you to look at your own rooms and jump start the process to refresh an outdated space.
UPDATE: We are no longer accepting submissions at this time. Thank you so very much for your interest. xo
What a fantastic idea! Can’t wait to see the results!
Thank you, Michele! It should be really fun to see the change. Have a wonderful week.
SO tempted for this for my bedroom!!
It’s a really fun process! Even if you do not submit, it will be fun to follow along and maybe inspire you to make some changes! xoxo
I’d love to submit our master but I’m out of town for the next week! We recently changed our mattress from a waterbed to a memory foam and I’d love a fresh new look.
Good luck everyone! Can hardly wait to see the results.
I loved this series in the past…can’t wait to see what you come up with!
I love this series!!
I’m going to get pictures taken ASAP; however, once you see my room, it may need more than 4 things! :(((
This is a neat idea! I have a couple bedrooms that would be wonderful candidates! I am wondering what a required budget would be for it though? Thanks!
So glad you brought this series back! It’s a fun series Courtney.
I can’t wait to follow this!!! 🙂
i am so into this! we desperately need help. i should submit 😉 whats a “reasonable” budget price range?!
Ummmm…….are age-old friends precluded from submitting their much needed bedrooms as makeovers????? Asking for a friend.
This is a GREAT idea. Be looking for an email from me soon!! I would love your help and expertise on our master bedroom!
This has totally inspired me to start my own “just four things” challenge! There is so much I want to do to my home and I feel like I haven’t been able to focus on completing a room, I just keep hopping around. This concept sounds perfect!
