Keep C.A.L.M. & Organize On Link Party

July 26, 2012 by Courtney 20 Comments

Welcome to the first Keep C.A.L.M. and organize on link party! Super excited to have you stop by and either look or link up. In case you missed my post, C.A.L.M. stands for Clear, Assign, Label, and Maintain. It’s just an easy way that I go about most projects. There should be plenty of ideas to get your wheels turning. I will be back next week to feature some of my very favorites. Cheers to getting more organized. Today I am sharing with you a system that worked great for us during my daughter’s kindergarten year. We will use the same system this year in first grade. homeworkbox I picked up this box from The Container Store. I use white ones to keep many of the school papers and projects that come home. We use this as our Homework Box. When she received her  homework assignments for the week, we would put them all in here along with her homework folder. schoolsupplies The box also contains a pencil box with sharpened pencils, crayons, and colored pencils. We loved keeping everything in one place. Often times I would prepare dinner and she would pull out her homework box.  She would always do it at the kitchen table so I was close at hand if she needed me. The box is always kept on our sideboard near the kitchen table. homeworkbox1 We really liked this system as it was always easy for either my husband or myself to check and be sure things were completed. I know each year is different and that the system is only really strong for the younger years. I am hoping to gather tips from all of you with older students!!! I will need them. Now it’s your turn!!! Link up with all of your organizational goodness! Feel free to grab a button or link back with a text link. Thank you! calm

Love the idea…When it's time for my son to do homework, he can never find a sharpened pencil! I may have to try this!

I have nothing to add to the organization inspiration. I'm still trying to declutter our closet.

I love this link up! Now I have a million different ideas on what I need to do next. Love it!

Great idea for a party, Courtney. Especially given with back to school looming, we all like to start off August with a tight-running ship.

I shared a few projects that have really helped me with my messiness…

    Thanks for hosting,
    Nicolette
