I hope you all had a safe and wonderful New Year’s celebration. We loved welcoming in the new year and are excited for a fresh start. My wheels are already turning with projects I can’t wait to jump into around the house. We are fortunate to have a large bonus room in this house. It has been our family hang out for the last four years. It’s really a large space and functions as a playroom/movie watching room. The space also has a place for my “office” and allows me to clock some serious blogging time when the kiddos are either asleep or blissfully playing {aka. . arguing over toys}. The problem is that I have really neglected it for the past three years. Although the space is somewhat finished, I am planning some serious updates. Topping the list is a fresh color scheme that eliminates some of the red. I also want to fine tune the space to really function well for the kids. Now that they are three and five and so much more independent, I would love for this to be a space where they can play, make messes, learn and create. Lastly, I hope to lighten up my work space a bit. I definitely do not want to spend very much money on this makeover so I plan to keep all of the existing furniture and really focus on cosmetic changes. Here is a list of what I hope to accomplish: Get rid of the red curtains and replace with white Switch up the throw pillows to something more fresh Fix up my office space {not sure what that means!} Lighten up the gallery wall {possibly paint frames} Figure out how to address those three annoying windows Make the space super inviting for the children Add more toy storage Add a gallery wall using my children’s artwork Include a space for a game table with chairs Now that I have made that list of to-do tasks I am suddenly exhausted. So bear with me . . . this room may take some time. I will show changes as I make them and hopefully get this room exactly where we want it to be. What about you? What are you tackling in the New Year? sharing with

We're hoping to finally be able to finish our master bath reno, refinish all these super old hardwood floors and stairs this summer, and rip off wallpaper/paint our massive hallway. Other than that, no projects at all going on over here:) Happy New Year!

My bonus room/playroom is also on my list of redo's!!! I just spent the weekend organizing the massive toy collection and I'm hoping to update the space as well with pillows and artwork! I also want a gallery wall for the kid's artwork…hoping to find one of those cool cable systems with the clips…I think that would be super cute. I can't wait to see what you do with your space!!!!

What a great big space to spend time together as a family! I am working on our basement right now and I hope to create a fun space where we can all hang out together! I hadn't thought about adding a desk…..hmmmm…. you've got me thinking now. That could be trouble 😉

Oh hey, bonus room I didn't even know existed in your house!! Haha (: I'm excited for you to take it on! Those three windows are silly…maybe that whole wall could be a wall of fabric? Add some serious pattern to the room that way. You'll make it beautiful! (:

I am so stalking this project. Our family room is the same way and I need to change it up!!

Excited to see your transformation!! You have inspired me to re-work a dead-space in our play room. I want to make it a true crafting/painting/creating area for the kids. I'll let you know how it goes! xxoo C
