Like most of you out there, I happen to clock a good amount of time in the laundry room. I may even rack up more minutes in my laundry room as it doubles as my little wrapping/card making room. I often go in there to wrap a birthday gift or create a card for someone. I recently added a couple of inexpensive additions that have made things so much easier for me. With sage green walls, black and white has become a crisp and clean color scheme to work with. w h a t i a d d e d
-
black and white rug from Target {clearance for $16}
-
basket for wrapping paper from HomeGoods {$16}
-
white shelf I had laying around for over two years {Home Depot}
-
four soup cans โฆrinsed and covered with wrapping paper I had on hand
-
shoe organizer to the back of the door
The shelf I had bought two years ago is now hanging over the dryer. I think I use the contents in these cans almost daily. I love having scissors in the laundry room for cutting tags off of new items or for trimming stray threads. These two white pots are from Ikea. I have had them for a while and they have been shuffled around. They now are home to the dryer balls and my gift tags. I am in love with this new basket from HomeGoods. In fact I went back for another one. They are really sturdy and allow items to stand up. I also like that they are very narrow and donโt take up much floor space. I love that my wrapping paper is now so handy. The basket on top of the cabinet hosts personalized card sets that I enjoy making and giving as gifts. I also keep these tins and take out boxes in my cabinet {along with my ribbons you can see here}. I pick these up all of the time and use them for gifting coloring tools or other little gifts. I just picked up the silver pails in the Target dollar bins {as I was being run over by crazed Missoni shoppers!} Lastly, I hung a shoe holder on the back of the door. I did this in our mudroom downstairs as well. This one is all for Mommy! It holds things I use for DIY projects as well as things I donโt want my children grabbing on their own {like glitter!}. The labels could be a little cuter, but they are working for now. Small changes that have made a really big difference. I love this little room. Have you made some little changes lately? Great organization I need to find a basket for my paper like you have. Those over the door organizers are wonderful. I found round labels at Staples and attached them to each pocket with a very tiny safety pin.

Your laundry room is so pretty – it makes me want to cry. I'm doing laundry in the basement since we moved into our new house and I hate it. I feel like I'm in a dungeon. I've got some plans for it, though! =) Thanks for the inspiration to get started!

Looks great! About those dryer balls, I've seen those but haven't tried them yet. How do they work, and do you like them?

I adore your Laundry Room/Wrapping Room. I dream of the day I have a space for this. Our washer/dryer are in a hall closet. There is minimal storage and no place to hang clothes to dry. I love how you've utilized your space. It's so pretty!! but also very organized and functional. So dreamy!! ๐

Dear Courtney,
You did a great job with the laundry room.
Love the rug that you purchased at Target.
Where did you pick up that color shoe rack
for storage? I use one of those when we go away with baby girl for all of our things.
Hav a great day.
Best,
CBO

Great updates!!! I'd love to have my crafty stuff organized…it is literally scattered all over the house…from kitchen cabinets to under my son's bed?!?! One day I'll get to the guest room/office and make it mine!

It looks Great, sheer perfection. not only useful but pretty too, now that is great design. I just finished with a little makeover in my laundry room that I have called the PIT for years. It is now a pleasant place to do the laundry. With three boys I have done more than my share of laundry in the PIT!! It was a much needed re-do!! Enjoy your new changes, Kathysue

Beautiful! Love the black and white accents!

Okay, I'm drooling. My laundry room is a nightmare. It's actually the utility room/pantry/storage/dog and cat food stations/somewhere to shove the washer and dryer. There's no way to make it even kind of cute. A gigantic furnace kinda takes away from any homey feel. ๐ Yours is sooooooo pretty. I'm pinning some of your organization ideas – I can at least use those someplace else in the house.

Wow–this is a fabulously organized laundry room–you have inspired me to reorganize mine this weekend!

An organized laundry room = bliss. Is it totally wrong that I will lock myself in there with the laptop, dryer running to block out noise? ๐

What great functional additions! I love the use of the shoe holder! And the dresser looks FABULOUS! You did a wonderful job!

This is such a great update and a functional space for you. I'm so envious of laundry rooms. Our washer/dryer/laundry area is down in our basement with not set parameters, but now I'm wondering if I can spice it up a bit. This is motivating me to get organized already!! I've gotten a basket or two from Homegoods as well and love them – such a steal for the price.
Kara {A Little Bit of Lovely} says
The rug looks like it was specially made for you! So cute – love the shelf and all of the organization.
