I am not sure why some very simple projects take us years to get to. Can you relate? Most of the bedrooms in our home had ceiling fans. While we swapped them out for chandeliers in some spaces, the kids both wanted to keep their fans. We immediately changed my son’s but never got around to swapping out my daughter’s fan. Truth be told, it’s harder to find feminine looking fans and it quickly fell off of our short list. But this past weekend, we took the old one down and gave her room a new look.
Here is where we started. My daughter loves her room to be minimal, calm and peaceful. This fan isn’t doing the room any favors and is just too heavy and dark for the space. But we sure took our sweet time swapping it out.
We chose this one because of the white blades and brass hardware. It really is a pretty design.
*The rug was a lucky HomeGoods find.
The room feels lighter already. She loves the new fan but I will say there are some quirks. Do you see the holes in the part that touches the ceiling? It came with a cover to hide those but the cover is white. Huh?? So odd so we ditched it. This one appears so similar but less expensive. The light itself can be changed from cool (terrible lighting) to warm but it’s not the most natural looking light. I would not count on this being your source of light. She has other lamps in the room and this is more for the air flow. The fan gives off great air flow and will absolutely be appreciated during the warmer months when we don’t love running the AC around the clock.
To be completely honest, I’m a little made at myself for not spending more on the fan. It’s ok. It gets the job done. But I found some other options below.
*Her necklace holder is still going strong.
If you want to invest more, this one from Pottery Barn is a wonderful option. I’ve rounded up a few more options if you are looking for a feminine swap for you fan. By the way, we used this one is my son’s room and it has been great.

This is an example of where we actually took the fan down and swapped it with a chandelier. This guest room doesn’t get too warm and I much preferred the look of this light in the space. The iron beds can be found here ($100).
The next swap in my daughter’s room will be taking down the blinds and replacing with a Roman shade. I’ll be sure to share if I find anything great.
Tender day here in Nashville as we remember and support all those affected by the Covenant tragedy a year ago today. Please keep the families in your prayers.
