Master Bathroom Renovation | Here We Go

March 12, 2015 by Courtney 7 Comments

Hi all! I just wanted to let you know we are alive and well over here but under construction! We started the master bathroom renovation and couldn’t be more excited. While we did our children’s bathroom entirely by ourselves, this time around we are hiring a contractor. To be honest, it’s not that we didn’t enjoy doing our children’s bath, but it took FOREVER. Like a million years, forever. And with our crazier than normal schedule we are not up for using every spare second to remodel with our own two hands. So I plan to show you the progress and share tips on how to keep a remodel under budget. I will also be sharing a post about when and where to spend your money. For now, here is a before shot. IMG_9602 I am literally listening to tile being ripped up. We have never really had someone else do the work. This is kind of amazing. But since I am a bit of a control freak {shocking, I know} this is also crazy unnerving. I’ll be back with progress shots and the plan for this builder grade beauty. And I tried to take the before shot in nice light. Ever get annoyed with the darker than normal before shots?! I know it makes for a better reveal, but sort of hard to truly compare. Wish us luck. . . especially with sharing a bathroom with our children for the next week {although I kind of dig their bathroom}. Make it a great day, my friends. BTW: Paint color is Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore and is sticking around. I love this color.

Can't wait to see how it turns out. My master bath renovation will be starting in a few weeks so I will be feeling your pain! I think I have the same floor tile as you, but I'm adding more grey and having to incorporate the beige since I didn't want to rip up my floor.

I'll enjoy following this, Courtney! Our Master Bath is long overdue a makeover, too. Every year it's been on "the list", but hasn't happened yet. Hopefully, THIS is it! I'm trying to decide how major of a makeover ours will be (new bathtub? new flooring? definitely new shower and vanities!)… wish I could snap my fingers and have it done!
