Hi friends. I realized that I showed a sneak peek of some changes for my master bedroom on Instagram, but haven’t shown it on the blog. Or if I did, I can’t remember. Old age is creeping in and it’s not pretty! I am really over the moon about some upcoming changes. I recently shared our new crisp white bedding. I also found a beautiful chair and have some wallpaper that was just delivered. Things are slowly starting to take shape. This chair was a HomeGoods find and I just love it. I am contemplating staining the legs darker or changing them up. I just haven’t figured out what look I am going for. That might be a detail I save until the end. I am also toying with swapping those two nesting tables out for one round one. I may even find a way to work in my faux marble paper as it really is just beautiful. I have already shown you the Schumacher Hot House Flowers fabric I am planning to use as accents but wanted you to see how it pairs with the wallpaper. After using this fabric for clients and always wishing it were for me, I finally realized. . . wait. . . I can actually have it in my own room! I will have some pillows made with it and go from there. This beautiful paper arrived in the mail from London. Thank you Wallpaper Direct. I poured over their selection and finally chose something graphic, yet classic in color. I wish you could see the faint shimmer of gold that outlines the pattern. It shimmers in certain lights and when the sun comes in the room. Really lovely. I almost went for a super bold black and white color way but with the help of some close friends realized soothing and serene is more the look I want in our master. I will keep the bold black and white for the living room! I just tossed the fabric over the chair to see how it will look. I love the subtle linen texture of the chair next to the pretty floral fabric. I feel like I am finally getting somewhere! And here is a reminder of how our crisp white bedding looks. I will be switching up the graphic print on our Euro shams as well as the drapery accent fabric. It completes with the graphic print of the wallpaper and I want to bring in more of the classic, timeless floral prints. We are moving slowly but making progress! The wallpaper will be installed next week and I can hardly wait. I’ll be sure to give you a sneak peek. …. In other news, I am really excited to share a little about a gift exchange I am participating in. I started blogging years ago and it was simply because I love creating, decorating and sharing. I discovered this amazing family of bloggers and have developed real and lasting friendships. Blogging has changed over the years with the infusion of Pinterest, Instagram, social media. . . . etc. And while all of those are wonderful, it has become harder and harder to maintain some of the bonds and connections that made blogging so special and fun to begin with. It is important to me that those connections aren’t lost. I was smiling ear to ear when Jen of Rambling Renovators and Stefanie of Brooklyn Limestone reached out with the same sentiments. They are craving the times when all of this seemed a bit more tight knit. That includes you, the reader. We want to feel cozy and close again. I am participating in a mother’s day edition of a favorite things exchange. I can’t wait to surprise a certain someone with a few of my favorite things. And in the end we should have a really fun list of favorite things to share. I always tell my children that it’s the relationships that they form that are the building blocks of life. Our relationships can support, cradle, guide and propel us. I don’t know where I would be in this world without the bonds of friendships. Cheers to that. And thank you to Jen and Stefanie for including me. Enjoy your day!

so so pretty – I am in the planning stages of my master bedroom and really, could go in any direction.. it's hard to know which direction when you're not an interior designer but really want to give it a shot on your own. Thanks for the inspiration. Looking forward to the gift exchange too – i love a lot of those bloggers you're doing it with 🙂

It is all coming together! Love the soft and serene palette you're going with. I think the bedroom is the perfect place to use more muted tones. It can't help but induce a good night's sleep!
So excited to be on the gift exchange with you. I think of all of the bloggers as friends I've never met. Now what to get you… that is, if I have you as my giftee… but maybe not 😉

Love the wallpaper. Love the fabric. Love it all! And I have to say that before I read a single word I looked at the photo of your new chair and thought "Courtney should stain those legs darker". Then I started reading… Great minds think alike, my friend! xo

Can't wait to see the wallpaper once it's up!! What a beautiful color pallet for your bedroom. I love that Schumacher fabric. Come to think of it, I love every Schumacher fabric. So hard to decide…which is another reason I appreciate you. I just kinda follow your lead in choosing colors and somehow it comes out better than I would have done on my own.

Can you please tell me what fabric that is? The blue floral?
Jennifer@The Chronicles of Home says
It's all coming together beautifully – the chair, the fabric, the wallpaper. I think you made the right call with keeping things softer in your bedroom. I love a bold black and white (obviously, since I was gushing in your living room post) but I like a quieter palette in the bedroom. Um…says the girl who is typing in bed with tangerine ikat throw pillows next to her… Hmmm…
