Meet My New Sponsor: Megan Winchell Peter

March 3, 2011 by Courtney 6 Comments

I am thrilled to introduce you to Megan Winchell Peter, the newest sponsor of a thoughtful place.  I just love her work and am enamored with her style.  image Here is a little bit about Megan in her own words. I am an artist and mother residing in New Jersey.  I specialize in portrait illustrations of people, but primarily work on images of children.  My portraits are rendered in graphite, so they have a similar aesthetic to a black and white photograph and add a personal touch to the interior of people’s homes. I love drawing people and am intrigued by the narrative one can create just by looking at someone’s expression.   My portraits have been given as gifts for birthdays, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as well as for other significant moments throughout the year. image image image   Megan Peter began her career as an artist in undergraduate studies at Columbia University in New York City, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in both Fine Art as well as Art History. Megan studied under some of the most highly regarded figures in the art community such as James H. Beck and Carl Fudge. She completed her Master’s Degree in Fine Art at New York University.  Megan Peter’s work has been featured in the renowned Washington Square East Gallery in downtown New York City, the Postcrypt Art Gallery at Columbia University, the Art Alliance of Monmouth in Red Bank, New Jersey, as well as in several private collections. Megan lives in New Jersey with her husband, their little girl, and baby on the way. image You can check out more of Megan’s gorgeous work on her site.  And on another note, I am thrilled to be guest posting over at Danielle Oakey Interiors dishing about the use of textiles in my home! go check it out. danielle oakey interiors
