Good morning. How was your weekend? Ours was a mix of fun with friends, sports with the children, and hours spent on our pantry project. It went by far too quickly but weekends always do. Here are a few highlights with our Monday Morning Wrap-Up.
DATE NIGHT
heels | shorts | similar blouse | jeans | shoes | shirt
Saturday night found us out on the town with some of our friends. It was a great way to kick off the weekend and relax a bit.
Have you tried any of the escape room adventures? Do you have any near you? We love them! This is our third time going to one and every time I think how clever and genius they are. Essentially you are locked in a room and have one hour to escape while solving mysteries, cracking codes and putting together clues all while working together as a team. I highly recommend!! This one was the Asylum room ( a bit creepy but so well done!) in Costa Mesa. It’s called Trap Zone. We managed to escape with 16 minutes on the clock. We had failed in our previous escape experience so we were determined to say the least. And kudos to those that designed this room. So clever and so smart. We loved it!
After escaping we headed to dinner and had so much fun catching up. The time went by too quickly. By the way, love that these tables are large squares rather than long rectangles. So nice to be able to see and talk to everyone at the table. Makes me want to rethink my own dining room table.
60% off SALE
In case you didn’t know, Gigi of New York has handbags marked down 60%!!! That is so good. They are gorgeous quality and a fun item for a holiday wish list. This one is beautiful. I also really like this cross body bag $295 $118.
OH BOY
It’s a bit of a fuzzy iPhone photo, but you can see an update of this pantry space with our tile installed. I’m pretty obsessed with it. Now it’s cabinet time!!!
After pricing custom cabinets and exploring all of our options, we were so impressed with the offerings at Ikea. You can’t beat the price and all of the options. But holy cow! When everything gets delivered on a palette like this it is a bit intimidating. I snapped this photo and sent it to my husband and work and he wrote back, “Oh no!!!” Ha. Not gonna lie. This threw us for a loop but we unpacked everything that very night (to inventory it all) and made piles of like items. Once it was unpacked and organized it was far less intimidating. Sharing updates on all of this on my Instastories today.
FINDING YOUR PASSION
If you are on Instagram, you may have seen this. This photo makes my heart so happy for so many reasons. This little man has been begging to play hockey since he was young. He literally has had a stick in his hand since the age of about 4. We finally felt like the time was right and have this cutie on ice. Within three months he has learned to skate and is on a team. He is over the moon happy. He wants to hit the ice all the time and we are just so very thankful that he found something he is passionate about.
It’s not easy helping your children find what they love. We expose them to as much as possible and hope for the best. This was his second game and he scored his first goal. The look on his face! He knows he has a lot of work ahead of him to catch up to the boys who have been playing for years but that’s just making him want to play more. Now if this mama could learn to not worry about him getting hurt and learn how to dress for the ice rink. It’s freezing in there! LOL.
HEROES AMONG US
Did you all see this? Greg Zanis took it upon himself to create a cross for each person lost in the Las Vegas shooting. He drove 1800 miles to bring them to this spot. He himself has gone through much tragedy and this selfless giving of his time and talent blew me away. It’s so touching and beautiful. So many heroes have emerged though this horrific incident and Greg is one of them.
Time to get on with our Monday, my friends. I sure hope it’s a great day for you. xo

You have a really, really funny typo in the first sentence 😉
Great post!!
Courtney says
Oh, this is seriously the funniest. I re-read it three times and still didn’t catch it. That really would be an interesting project. LOL. Thanks for catching that. Hope it made you laugh! I was running errands and cracking up when your message came through. 🙂 Enjoy your Monday.

It’s hilarious. I wouldn’t be embarrassed–it’s just such an awesome typo.

(that typo is funny!)
Welcome to being a hockey mom! I have been part of that club for over 7 years and have two kids that play the sport. It’s a fun one to watch! I recommend layers at the rink. That cute pea coat you posted Saturday with a scarf is perfect. Always wear closed-toe shoes in the rink, too. Around here, you learn very quickly which arenas are warmer than others, and you learn to stand where the warmest part of the arena is 🙂

Coming from Canada I can tell you a thing or two about Hockey and rinks. Rest easy-he won’t get hurt. The equipment is amazing and assuming it’s “no hit Hockey” he will be fine. I feel it’s safer than football! As for us frozen Moms, a seat pad that you put in the microwave is heaven sent and works like a charm. I got mine at Costco for about $25? Stays warm for hours and makes for a softer seat ???? Hat mitts and warm footwear help too of course. Enjoy!

I have to admit I’m 99% sure I’d have a panic attack if I tried one of those escape rooms. I’d be the definite party pooper! The tile in your pantry is absolutely gorgeous. I’m excited to see the finished project! I hadn’t heard about Greg Zanis and the crosses. That’s truly a beautifully moving thing that we all could learn from. Thank you for sharing!

Hockey! My son is now a senior in high school. He has been playing hockey since he was seven (started a little late in the hockey world:), and we have enjoyed every minute. Enjoy the Mite Years, they are the BEST!
