Good morning. It’s nice to be back into the Monday Morning Wrap Up routine. Life has been a bit nuts as of late so routine always brings some normalcy back. Did you have a nice weekend? I managed to throw out my back out for part of it but luckily ice and rest did the trick. We spent much of the weekend outdoors enjoying the sunshine.
BIT OF SUNSHINE
The hydrangeas in the gray planter are starting to come back. Love seeing that. This remains my favorite spot to spend time. Unfortunately the furniture is discontinued but if I find anything similar I will let you know. By the way, did you know Studio McGee launched an outdoor line with Target. It’s good! These chairs are so pretty I’d like to even use them inside.
FLOWER ENVY
Rounded up a couple of new flowers for the yard. We love Bougainvillea but can’t seem to make it work in our soil. Such a bummer. You can’t beat this pretty hot pink color.
PRETTY IN PINK
Speaking of pretty and pink, that color will always be my mom. Gosh, I see this photo now and how frail she was. But she still had her strength of spirit and warmth. This happened to be Mother’s Day and she literally stopped to smell the roses on this patio. If that isn’t a lesson in life, I don’t know what it. Miss her dearly. My heart breaks for anyone on the Alzheimer’s Journey (especially during these times). We shared much of our story here so please pass along to anyone who could benefit. Miss you, Mama.
SUNDAY FUNDAY
I shared this photo on my stories yesterday and had so many questions about the corn hole game. My husband made it and the tutorial we used, plus painting tips, are linked in this post. The table was a lucky find from a fabric store years ago. They happened to be selling it and we snatched it up.
STRAIGHT HAIR
This little handbag was your favorite from Saturday Shopping (along with this blouse). I have been using it daily. Love that my full size wallet fits in it and the color is goes with everything (stone). Also wanted to mention that I rarely wear my hair straight like this because it’s always been so fine. While it may not look like much to you, being able to wear it without curling it is major for me. The liquid collagen is, without a doubt, strengthening my hair. There is even less fall out and it feels thicker.
*Top is old an no longer available. Cardigan linked here.
COMFY AND COZY
And lastly, the weekend outfit I wear the most. Leggings ($30) and a hoodie ($20). Who’s with me? These are both from Amazon and I’ve been thrilled with the quality. These are pretty much the only style of legging I wear now.
Deep breath. This week seems a bit daunting over here so I am hoping to fit in a work out and then hit the ground running. When I was young and in school my mom would often give me a pep talk before a big test. She knew I would get nervous. She would calmly say, “Take a deep breath, count to ten, and jump in.” Maybe you could use that pep talk today, too. Make it a good one, friends.

I love those little nuggets of wisdom when people share what their parents would tell them. Those are the little things that contribute so much to a family’s history. Glad you are recording those bits for your kids.

Beautiful picture of you and your mum. You share a very close resemblance to her she is forever alive in your thoughts and memories. Thanks for sharing. Hope your week is off to a good start. Here in D.C and VA we are dealing with rain ice and snow. I will stay warm, while you look like you are headed for warmer sunny days.
Take care – Anjiline
