Good morning. I hope you had a lovely weekend. I know most of you were probably watching football! We caught some of the games in the Pittsburgh airport which was fun. We just got back into town from a trip to Pennsylvania for my mother-in-law’s funeral. It was a beautiful weekend spent with family and we are so very grateful for the time together.
A BEAUTIFUL SEND OFF
I adore this photo. In fact, I remember Grandma Sue helping Riley plant flowers like it was yesterday. She loved working in the garden and took pride in her own plants. Such a special love to pass down. The weekend was so emotional and difficult but I saw first hand just how many people she touched and how her generous spirit impacted so many. Loss is never easy but so much good comes from being all together. And so very proud of my husband for honoring her in such a beautiful way.
On a personal note, Sue read my blog every single day and I will forever miss that support. It was such a gift to me. She was my children’s biggest fan and I will always be grateful for that.
FULL HEART
Thankful for time spent with this one. You know those people that when you meet them you instantly connect? This is one of those friends and so thankful we could spend time together. It took a small town in Pennsylvania for these two California girls to reunite which was pretty special.
SUCH BEAUTY
This was 45 minutes after the first snowflake touched the ground. I honestly had never seen anything like this. Even my husband, who grew up in PA, said he can’t remember a time when so much snow came down so quickly. Needless to say it was gorgeous. It also made the 3 hour drive back to the airport quite an adventure.
SMALL TOWN SOUL
It was really special to see the entire town blanketed in snow. And being around family and such kind souls for the weekend was a gift. There is something very magical about small towns and everyone knowing one another and looking out for each other. A lot to be learned from that and so grateful my children were there to experience it all. Grandma Sue, we love you and miss you dearly. Thank you for watching over us.
BEST TIGHTS EVER
tights | similar coat | dress
Speaking of winter and snow, these tights get 5 stars from me. You would never know that they are fleece lined and are a dream to wear. Cozy, comfortable and kept me so warm. Can’t say enough great things about them. Also LOVE the dress and I found it on sale.
THIS WAS A GREAT BUY
Quick update. My daughter when off to school in this fleece jacket today and it’s adorable. The color is beautiful (comes in so many) and it’s very cozy and warm. She NEVER wears coats so the fact that she wore this was a huge win. She picked it out and did a great job. Highly recommend. It is true to size.
After traveling, it always takes a minute to settle back in and get back to a routine. Entering the week with a grateful heart. Thank you for being here.

Courtney,
What a nice tribute to Sue, she was so special. She adored all of you,. We all watch her grandchildren grow up as she shared their pictures and activities every chance she could with our “Suds” group. From Riley driver’s license to Grady’s hockey games. Ryan gave such a beautiful eulogy. Sue certainly left a hole in our hearts, but that is what life is all about, creating that hole. Miss her everyday.

I am so glad you got to celebrate Grandma Sue with family and those that loved her. I am so sorry for your loss. There is nothing quite like the love of a grandmother with her grandchildren.

Courtney, I cry for her every day I miss her so much I keep waiting for her special tone on the phone ring but it never happens. My heart is truly broken and I am going to miss her house so terribly I spent 71 Christmases there except during Covid and how do you replace that? I’m sorry we didn’t get to spend more time with you. I feel like I know the children from reading your blog every day but still I would’ve liked to chatted with him and really get to know them and . And you too please stay in touch and give us a call. I miss the summers Ryan used to spend with us. Again stay in touch please. Much love aunt Mary.
