Good morning. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We so enjoyed Easter and savored every second of the special day. We didn’t take photos but we sure did rejoice in the day. Tennessee has had beautiful weather lately, so it’s been nice to soak up the sunshine. Here is a recap with our Monday Morning Wrap Up.
SPRING IS HERE
This is my favorite time of year in Tennessee. Watching the trees change and everything begin to bloom feels like magic to me. And when the temps are mild and warm I am outside 100% of the time. This deck is not covered but we love sitting out here. For now we pull these chairs (Ikea) from our dining table and use them on the weekends. It just seems to make the most sense because the elements make furniture out here a bit tough. Plus we like the space to remain flexible. Sometimes we use a big table out here or a cocktail table when we entertain. This is also where we have our Blackstone grill because it’s directly off of our kitchen/dining room.
This folding table is wonderful. Inexpensive from Target and great for setting down drinks. Also really nice for morning coffee. And these folding bistro chairs are really cute.
MORNING HIKES
We fell off of our hiking routine during the colder months so it feels good to back into it. And seeing all of the green feels so good. Speaking of hiking, my sneakers aren’t cutting it so if anyone loves their hiking shoes, let me know.
DATE EVENING
Date nights have always been a priority for us. Even when the kids were little. In fact, many of our date nights were on our front porch after the children were asleep. Now that they are older, it’s much easier. During these teen years, we have found late afternoon/evening dates are great. We love to be outside with the nice weather and enjoy an early dinner. Then we can be home at a decent time and fully present for whatever plans they have going on. Plus we are old and love to be home early 😉 This area in Franklin has really come to life with so many great restaurants.
The latest restaurant to open is Blue Sushi Sake Grill (also one in Nashville) and it’s fantastic. I went with friends for lunch and then went back that same week with my husband for date night. A great addition to Franklin.
EASTER FUN
After mass on Easter morning, the kids had 12 puzzles to figure out and find in the house which lead to their baskets. If you have older kids, this was so much fun. And a piece of cake because I bought the kit off of Etsy (only $6). I used to make these myself for birthdays and such and they took forever. This one was really well done and the kids loved it. Highly recommend. If you think your kids would love it, maybe print it out now and tuck it away with the Easter baskets so you have it for next year.
We also clocked a few hours playing pickleball. This set is great and perfect for a driveway.
MORNING ROUTINE
I’ve been trying to focus on a consistent morning routine. I always feels so much better when I am intentional about the first hour of the day. Lemon water with salt is my go-to prior to coffee. And natural light before turning on any other lights helps with sleep patterns. I also refrain from picking up my phone for the first hour. And as soon as I do I play Connections. Have you all tried that game yet? I am hooked. I love it while drinking my coffee. What is your go-to in the morning that gets the day started on the right track?
SPRING WARDROBE
Spring is definitely my favorite wardrobe season. This vest is from Loft and a fun one. It’s currently 50% off with free shipping. The jeans (more blue in person) are so comfortable. They run true to size (size 25 here) and are long. I am 5’7″ and wear these with heels.
If you didn’t catch Saturday Shopping, it’s one of my favorites lately and you can read it here.
Hard to believe it’s April 1st. I hope it’s a great start to the month for you.

These waterproof trail shoes have been great to wear hiking and also during rainy weather. It has great grip and I love that it looks more like a tennis shoe and is lightweight! I go up a half size because the upper part of the shoe fits a little snug on me. They have fun colors and are great if you can catch them on sale – https://www.nike.com/t/pegasus-trail-4-gore-tex-womens-waterproof-trail-running-shoes-9knDsQ/FN7102-010
