Good morning. Working from our patio today and it feels so nice to be outside enjoying the weather. We are about to get some storms so I’m soaking in the blue sky and vitamin D. How was your weekend? Ours was a complete whirlwind but really wonderful. We threw our daughter a birthday brunch to celebrate turning 18 and loved every minute of hosting her friends. We also celebrated my husband’s birthday! We are a very happy exhausted on this Monday morning.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS
I am still in awe of these flowers that were created for Riley’s brunch (Brentwood Flower Shoppe). Michael did an incredible job and now we get to enjoy them in the house. I can’t wait to share photos of the brunch. This mama was pretty emotional knowing that she will be away at college for her birthday next year. We are just so grateful for our daughter’s group of friends and all of the memories made over the last three years (time flies).
This was the hero of the party. Well, actually my husband was the hero for insisting we order this. Fantastic quality and we now plan to use it at the grad party. So great to have. It did rain for about ten minutes so we pulled this right over (it was set up and in our driveway ready to go). Five stars from us and you can’t beat the price for a 20′ tent.
QUICK DATE NIGHT
We spent all of Friday prepping for the party and praying the weather would hold out. But we treated ourselves to a quick date night in between picking up the cake and other party items. It’s our way of slowing down and staying grateful rather than caught up in the overwhelm. And a filter was needed for these tired faces. If only the wrinkles would disappear in real life ;).
TWELVE THIRTY CLUB
Sunday was spent celebrating Ryan. The kids took him to brunch. Love that they had the one on one time with him. My husband’s one request was live music so last night we hit up the Supper Club at Twelve Thirty in Nashville. Hands down one of our very favorite spots. If you are visiting, a spot in the lounge is really casual and fun. The music last night was incredible. Their website does a fantastic job of letting you know who will be playing (the bands are always great).
And this time of the year, sitting outside on their patio is wonderful. You overlook Broadway and Bridgestone Arena making for great people watching. Pulled this dress out of the archives but the tan is thanks to this foam. You can put it on 20 minutes before heading out the door and get a great even tan. No doubt I wear these heels the most. They go with everything. On sale for $29!
DARLING DONUT SHOP
If you are local, Itty Bitty Donuts is a great spot to take the family for donuts or meet a friend for coffee. Great vibe inside and an awesome outdoor porch, too. And this time of the year, there is nothing but green trees surrounding the area.
LOVE THESE BAKERS
I have had these bakers for years and they still look like the day I bought them. They clean like a dream and have been a wonderful purchase. They are 40% off right now. I use them all the time and the best part it that they easily stack in the fridge if you are prepping for a holiday or entertaining.
NEUTRAL BEDROOM INSPIRATION
- juju hat – I love the texture of these for above a bed
- upholstered bed – great reviews, nice high headboard
- waffle euro shams – great feel to these and price
- bolster pillow – currently sold out 🙁
- fan – nice and neutral
- nightstand – comes in many colors, love the light green
- ivory rug – adds texture and warmth
- blanket – lightweight, nice for summer months
- lamp – pretty design
I put together this inspiration board for an upcoming project. I bought this bed because it’s currently on sale (fantastic reviews). I ordered the linen talc color but also love the Zuma White Textured. These nightstands are also on sale. They are so pretty in person. A few of you have ordered them and told me how much you love them. I also recommend this nightstand as no assembly is required and it is currently on sale.
MORE WAY DAY SALES
We were so crazy busy this weekend, but I still opened my laptop to buy some of the things on my list from the Wayfair sale.
Our very soft family room rug is on sale. If you are on the hunt for slipcovered sectional, this one is on sale. Our chandelier is from here but this version will save money and looks almost identical. You can see my favorite picks from the sale here (we either own them already or I placed an order this weekend).
Ok mamas! No matter what ages your kids are, May is a busy month. Good luck this week and here’s to staying in the moment. And I keep reminding myself that nothing needs to be perfect. It goes too quickly to get caught up in that.

Hey Courtney! Wondering if you have a post with painting furniture tips? I noticed your sideboard you painted, and know you paint lots of cabinets and furniture. I’m about to undertake a sideboard myself……
Thank you!
Debbie

Hi Courtney – do you have the source for your ottomans in family room?

That tent! Thanks for the tip. It’s cheaper than renting one of similar size in our area.
