Can you believe it’s June?! Holy cow this year is flying. I plan to resume my newsletter this week so I am looking forward to connecting with you there. In case you aren’t subscribed, I share in a different way than on the blog and Instagram. I open up a more, share words of wisdom, a podcast or book I am loving and a recipe we have been enjoying. Plus it’s a nice way to make the world of social media feel smaller.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS
So happy to see this flat leaf hydrangea blooming. We didn’t have a single bloom last year so this is really fun to see. And the rest of our hydrangeas are about to bloom, too. Don’t give up hope if you go through a rough season with yours. They really can spring back!
WHAT A GIFT
On Saturday night we watched our dear family friend perform in The School of Rock. I can’t tell you how amazing this production was. All of the performers have intellectual and developmental differences. Backlight Productions is a true gift. If you know anyone who could benefit from being a part of this, I highly recommend it. Those who run the production company are amazing humans and the patience and love that is poured into this community is inspiring.
Our friend, Riley, was a star. It was truly wonderful to watch all of these performers shine. We loved every minute of it. Cheers to good people doing really good things.
BANANA BREAD DIVIDE
This weekend, I shared the banana bread recipe on stories and mentioned that I only do chocolate on half. So many of you asked about that and couldn’t fathom someone not liking chocolate. My son was born with a chocolate allergy. He has since outgrown it but doesn’t like it at all. Let me tell you, it makes desserts a bit challenging but thank goodness for vanilla!
GOOD FOR THE SOUL
Are you familiar with Nate Bargatze? I gave my husband tickets to his show for his birthday. We saw him last night in Huntsville, Alabama. Incredible show. His comedy is clean, great for all ages and has you laughing the entire show. So very talented and just a great way to spend an evening.
SUMMER VIBES
dress | sunglasses | striped top | blazer | shorts | heels | crossbody
All of these pieces are from Walmart and so cute. The sandals are comfortable the first time you wear them and the linen blazer is adorable ($39). You can see more photos of these in Saturday Shopping.
