July. Can you believe it? What do you have on the agenda this week? Do you have big plans for the Fourth? We are still working that out. It was much easier when the kiddos were little and we all did the same thing. I love life with teenagers, but it does make me look back with fond memories over the yearly 4th of July traditions with our best friends. We are blessed with glorious weather today so I will be getting our flag bunting up on the house. Here is snippet of life lately with the Monday Morning Wrap Up.
COFFEE WITH A FRIEND
Make the coffee date. Do you have a friend you’ve been wanting to spend time with but it just doesn’t happen? This is your nudge to pick up the phone and get a date on the calendar. I met up with my dear friend, Becca, and it was so good for the soul. Life can get pretty hectic but it’s the quiet moments of connection that bring it all back into perspective. If you are local, Monamie Coffee in Nolensville is darling. Such a pretty spot and relaxing place to begin the day.
BEAUTIFUL ROADS
I always love driving to Monamie Coffee because this is the view driving home. These roads and trees are so peaceful to me. Having been here three years, they still make me tear up.
HOMEMADE BISCUITS
My daughter requested homemade biscuits so I gave them a try. They were actually delicious and tasted much better than they looked. I have no idea how people get perfectly round biscuits. My dough was super sticky and a mess but they sure were yummy. I’ll try again this week and see where we get!
A DAY AT THE MUSEUM
Saturday was a day to remember. My son invited me to go to lunch and the local art museum (The Frisk). His treat. He and my husband have always spent so much time together (years of travel hockey) and so these days are magical to me. He is so much fun to spend time with and he was very patient as we walked through the Alexander McQueen exhibit. It’s from the point of view of Ann Ray (his personal photographer) and is so well done. Some of you have been with me since he was just a toddler. It’s crazy how fast it all goes.
DATE NIGHT LOOK
We were lucky enough to sneak in a couple of quick date nights this past week. We are the ones now heading out early and home by 7:00. Yep, you read that right. We LOVE afternoon dates and being home to enjoy the evening with the kids (or at least be around for them as they are in and out with friends).
These jeans are my absolute favorite (the run long). The top is Amazon and so is the cute clutch.
PINSTRIPES FOR THE WIN
I’ve been meaning to share this look with you. And now it’s on sale (top | pants). I think it’s so fun for summer and won’t break the bank. I went down a size in both pieces to an XS (I am usually a small). There were mixed reviews on fit but I actually love the way it fits. Paired it with the Amazon clutch.
SUNDAY EVENING
We wrapped up the evening right her in our backyard. The last couple of days have been such great weather. A solid breeze and low humidity. It’s about to heat up but we sure are enjoying it while we can.
SERENA AND LILY SALE (UP TO 40% OFF)
Don’t forget about the Serena and Lily Sale happening right now. It’s a pretty big event. Their quality is unmatched and I am all about finding things on sale. We have LOVED our dining chairs(23% off) and now have them in the beach house (shop the beach house).
Thank you for stopping in. I hope you have a wonderful Monday. If you missed this week’s Saturday Shopping post, you can get caught up here.

Perfect shaped biscuits come from rolling out dough and cutting them out. : )

Aloha,
I love your blog and read it weekly.
I had to share this recipe regarding the secret to the perfect biscuits. My daughters and I love this recipe. After they’re rolled and cut the secret is to have them touch eachother in the pan while baking so they climb up. 😊

Have you tried the Loveless Cafe in Nashville? They have excellent biscuits.
Love the fashion items on this post too.
