This past week was so much fun with the Fourth of July. I hope you all enjoyed the holiday. We spent it with dear friends and loved every minute of it. We have hit the spot in the summer where we are forgetting what day it is. And yet keenly aware that the weeks are ticking down. We knocked out more of the college dorm list this weekend. If you missed Saturday Shopping you can check it out here.
SUMMER DAYS
We have been spending so much time out here. We are looking forward to hosting more in the Fall. These Adirondack chairs are currently on sale. They are an investment but they look just as great as the day we bought them. We get a crazy amount of sun, wind, snow and rain. And for reference, our fire pit area is 16′ wide. The fire pit is from here.
ANSWERING QUESTIONS
I love that so many of you are interested in these remote shades. A couple of questions keep popping up so I wanted to answer those here.
Q: Do they make them so you can see through?
A: Absolutley.
You can choose on a scale of 1-5% opacity. We chose 1% opacity for privacy. To maintain a view, 5% would be ideal. Great option for sun protection or even weather. A dear friend of mine wants to install them to keep rain from coming into her porch. Great idea.
Q: Can we install them ourselves?
A: Yes! They are very easy to install. We wish we had done it sooner.
My code: GWCourtney will take 8% off of your order and can be stacked on top of any other discount.
TENNESSEE TREES
Even though our temps are toasty, I have been trying to stay in a place of gratitude. These beautiful trees and green everywhere brings such joy.
Each morning, as soon as my eyes open, I have been doing a gratitude practice. Three things I am grateful for and why. They why really takes the gratitude to a new level. That an journaling always set the day up so nicely. Do you ever journal?
PROTEIN PACKED SNACK
Always trying to up my protein intake over here. I am not a fan of cottage cheese (the texture) but know it packs a punch so I’ve been blending it. For this dip, I blended it with 1/2 avocado, olive oil and a clove of garlic. It was delicious. It’s yummy with any fresh veggie and Siete chips.
BISCUIT JOURNEY CONTINUES
This past week I took a couple of tips from a sweet reader. What a difference. I have been having fun trying to perfect the biscuit. This cutter is FANTASTIC. And I took the advice of not twisting the cutter (just push down and pull up so sides don’t seal) and place them next to one another on the baking sheet. That way they rise up instead of spreading out.
This all started because my daughter requested biscuits. And with her headed off to college, I am all about making things she loves. It will be fun to make them for her when she comes home on breaks.
ANTHRO DISCOUNT CODE
Don’t forget about the code: ANTHRO20 if you would like to treat yourself to something from Anthroplogie. These pants are my favorite but they have so many darling things right now. These sandals were a best seller from the weekend. I am ordering them in black.

Target Circle Week is in full swing and the savings are fantastic. Our go-to throw is now $42 (looks like the expensive one from Pottery Barn).
We also met up with a few friends at one of our favorite local spots. Always a nice way to wrap up the weekend. What is on your agenda this week? I am really hoping to test paint colors in our basement. Right now it feels like the never ending project. Anyone have a magic wand? I’ll take it right about now.
ANNIVERSARY SALE
If you are shopping the Nordstrom Sale you can see my picks here. There are some really darling things this year (last year was a bit of a bust).
