Good morning. I have that happy tired feeling this morning that comes after a vacation. It’s cloudy and rainy which makes the coffee and slow start to this Monday feel just right. I have so much to share in this morning wrap up so let’s get right to it.
A FAVORITE SPOT
We spent last week in Orange County, California (where we are from) and it felt so wonderful to be on our old stomping grounds. This walk down to Salt Creek beach is where I grew up learning to boogie board with my dad. This beach holds so many memories. We met up with our best friend to have a picnic and watch the sunset. We raised all of our kids together so it always feels like returning to family.
Del Mar Street
We stayed in San Clemente this time (where my sister lives) and loved being able to walk the shops and restaurants on Del Mar.
Always fun to stroll in and out of these darling shops with my sister. And my daughter and her friend loved hitting up the local coffee spots each morning for fresh baked pastries before heading down to the beach. In fact everyone was up by 6:45 am each morning to do just that.
My husband and I love to roll out of bed nice and early and walk down to the pier. The beach walk and coffee are a great way to start the day. (Love these sneakers so much).
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
It was really special to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary in such a special place. The Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel holds so many memories for us so we headed there for a celebratory dinner.
The views from this hotel are unlike any other. Watching the surfers and enjoying sunset over the ocean was such a gift. And a really memorable spot to reflect on the last 21 years and just how much life we have experienced together. It hasn’t all been easy, in fact there has been a decent amount of tragedy, but so much good and so much to be grateful for. And always in it as a team which is what I hope my children find in their spouse.
While we were out, our son was fishing on the pier with friends and the girls were out to dinner. But we capped off the night with a late night run to In-N-Out for everyone. No trip to California is complete without it.
We truly enjoyed every minute we were in Orange County. It was wonderful to see family and our dear friends. It always feels as if no time has passed. The roots are deep which is why we still stay so connected despite our being across the country. With any great trip, it’s magical to get away but it feels amazing to be back home here in Tennessee.
FUN NEW DROP
Social Threads dropped new pieces while I was gone. These jeans are so good, ladies. They are stretchy at the waist so they never feel too tight and such a flattering cut. They fit true to size (wearing a 25) and the blouse is so pretty. Feminine detailing and very pretty (wearing a small). My code: COURTNEY15 will take 15% off your order.
HOME FINDS WE LOVE
While away, I also shared some of our go-to decor pieces. These table lamps are so good, my friend. And they are currently on sale!!! What I like about this particular one is that you can set it to two different heights. On a table, I prefer the taller height (seen below) but on our open shelves this height is ideal. It adds so much warmth and the fluted detailing makes it look more expensive than it is. They are a nice weight, too. Highly recommend.
We have had the bowls for quite some time and love them. We use them for soups, salads and poke bowls.
- salad bowl – beautiful and $20
- napkins – nice neutral set we use often
- wood vase
- $5 planter
- our stoneware bowls
- table lamps – couldn’t love them more, on sale
- cutting board
- faux stems – incredible price (4 for $17)
- large vase
- rug – we have this in our music room
- dresser – the caning is fantastic
Beginning this week with such gratitude. Thankful for a great visit to California and now focussed on getting both kids ready for back to school. Our son starts two weeks from today which will be here before we know it.
Wishing you a really great Monday. Thank you for being here.
