Good morning. Whew. It’s been a whirlwind over here. We snuck in a trip to Florida last week which is why I stepped away from the blog and newsletter. And then we had a friend in town which was a wonderful way to spend the weekend. Feeling very grateful for the last few days and ready to jump back into being productive and making progress in our basement. Here is a recap with our Monday Morning Wrap Up.
OCTOBER SKIES
There is something really magical about the months of October and November on 30A. If you are not familiar, it’s a road that runs along the Gulf of Mexico with a handful of charming towns. We fell in love with the soft sand and pretty beaches and love going any chance we get. The sunsets this time of year are spectacular.
THAT FIRST PEEK
We like to take the golf cart to the beach and this view takes my breath away every time. Having grown up near the ocean, this takes me right back there. Such a calming force that comes with seeing this water.
BIKE RIDES
When we stay in Florida, we love riding the bikes. There are paths everywhere so it makes it really easy. My overalls are still going strong. I wear them all the time because they feel like pajamas. My sneakers can be found here.
Also had the chance to meet up with Sarah (Life On Virginia Street) and Rachel (Pinteresting Plans). Sarah and I think we met over ten years ago. It was so much fun to catch up and went by way too quickly. Both ladies are so talented so be sure to check them out.
SEASIDE SPOT
If you have a chance to visit, be sure to go to Bud and Alley’s in Seaside. You can sit outside and this in the view from the deck. No editing . . . the water really is that aqua color.
TIME TO EXHALE
It was really wonderful to be able to have this time together. Life has been a bit nuts behind the scenes so this was a welcome getaway. Love doing life with this man and so very grateful.
If you are looking to book a stay, we would love to host you. Pro tip: booking direct saves the fees.
LIFE IN TENNESSEE
Back home the trees are magical. We came home to our front tree looking like this! Incredible colors. We landed back in Nashville around noon and had a friend fly in at 3:00. Perfect timing and so fun to show him around town for a couple of days. He and my husband have known each other for 24 years so deep roots.
LEIPER’S FORK
Leiper’s Fork is one of our very favorite towns in this area. Highly recommend if you find yourself this way. So charming during the fall months and always so much going on. Yesterday, Wynonna Judd gave a free concert on the lawn next to Fox and Locke.
FIRESIDE CHATS
And nothing beats a chilly fall night around the fire pit. So many great conversations happen out here and I am always so thankful we went this route. Looking forward to having Riley home for Thanksgiving so we can all spend time out here.
FALL DENIM
And in fall fashion news, I adore these jeans. They have a very flattering cut and are stretchy at the waist so extremely comfortable. A great pair of denim for this time of year. Loafers and sweater on repeat over here!
Saturday Shopping was a fun one this week so be sure to check it out. And I can’t wait to share all of the progress in the basement. The arch is complete and the tile will be grouted today or tomorrow.
I will also be getting the gift guides together and so appreciate all of your feedback. Stay tuned for those. Make it a great Monday.

Hi Cortney, always enjoy your posts! My husband and I are planning a quick getaway to Nashville, mid November, hoping the weather cooperates. Planning on visiting Franklin, and Leiper’s Fork, I’ve never been to Tennessee! By the way, the necklace you have been wearing recently has caught my eye, very pretty! CN you share details?
